@pieceofmind03 Prob doesnt come much better than Yes. King Crimson or Pink Floyd. Am a big fan of both The Yes Album and Close to the Edge ...that mid 70s line up was pure gold
@NickMotown Friend of mine arranged to sleep on my sofa after a night out and brought a sleeping bag with him, it was of the type that had a hood and zipped up all the way to the neck. Next morning I mentioned that he looked like a giant slug lying on the sofa.... The nickname Slug stuck
@Mofoman360 Opportunist ... 3 different political parties in a pretty short career ? ...bandwagon jumper. Don't believe he genuinely cares about the populist rubbish he spouts ... It's just getting him where he wants to be
@GenTXer2 I'll go with shaddup ya face by Joe Dolce but Soft Cell had loads of Hits .. Unless of course you aren't looking at the UK charts π. Not sure how successful they were in the US
@lynnj8110@implausibleblog@RMTunion He actually says people working are struggling .. I'd say people on middle incomes need their pay increased to a,fair level too ...it's not just about increasing the minimum wage.
@GeoffHux @implausibleblog@RMTunion No it doesn't. It sounds like socialism. The old British kind of socialism .. Based on democracy ... Poor people don't do any better under communism than they do under fascism
@RealJamesWoods I would assume that those who reply in those circumstances survived . Unlike a lot of people who caught covid before the vaccine existed
@i_iratus @Anderson I'd love to know how Lee Anderson tallies his Christian beliefs with his belief that poor people can get by on 30p meals while the rich need tax cuts ... Show me the bit in the bible where Jesus snubs the poor π
@MikeTilburn First album I heard by him was Heart Attack and Vine, got blown away by the direction change for Swordfish trombones/ Rain Dogs / Frank's Wild Years and still have a deep affection for all 4. Mule Variations is great too and I think Alice is a greatly unappreciated gem
@i_iratus @RishiSunak The joke of him saying they're working to give the British people what they want when they lose by election after by election ...
@GraemeAThomson Think Charlie explains how the music evolved into this in your book well, I felt at the time that the album was patchy. Waterfront was a great lead single that bass hook. There are other great tracks too but it's not as consistently good as NGD
@NPortnell Great band ... I'd love to be in your position hearing a band this good for the first time .. I saw them live on the 2nd stage at Glastonbury around the time that came out .... Roberts solo output is well worth visiting too
@NileGardiner For centuries Britain sent out it soldiers to subjugate countries around the world, telling the local inhabitants that they were now British subjects, asset stripped their resources and told them they and their descendants could come live here if they could afford the fair
