For anyone who needs to hear this:
The point of your sports IS NOT to be good at youth sports.
The point is to teach values that will make them successful as they get older in sports AND life.
If you appropriately teach these values you will have many successful athletes that enter their adult years!!!!
If instead your kids peak between 8-14 years old it is not the kids fault, it is your systems fault and your values are misplaced.
🗣️ “If you’re invested in the sport, you’re going to be a good coach…They know what they’re talking about because they care.”

You don’t think coming to camp means something? This is what the hard work in August gets you. Amazing job Bethpage.
It’s not all done yet though. Go get it next week.

Not sure how reliable these are. The last 100 seems correct but mid race they’re saying they ran a 200 in 36+ seconds and then ran 1100-1200 in 6-7 seconds.
The reaction to Ruth Chepngetich's WR in October was unlike anything I can remember seeing. A scathing editorial, a wild session of Kenyan parliament, and a lot of skeptical fans.
A few thoughts from today following Chepngetich's provisional suspension:

I received this picture as I was driving home in the rain, and it instantly took me back to 2016. I was driving to the AirBNB with a young man who had just been eliminated from the U17 World Team Trials. He came to the tournament with high hopes, but it didn’t go as planned. Sometimes, in those moments, words don’t do much—what’s needed is simply being there for athletes who come up short.
Fast forward nine years, and here we are again, walking down the back hallway after the final match of his college career. I can't express enough how grateful I am to Keegan O'Toole for letting me be part of his journey. Yes, he faced setbacks along the way (as we all do), but he was the type of athlete every coach dreams of—dedicated, always putting in the work, supporting those around him, and consistently asking the right questions to push himself forward.
Congratulations on an incredible career, Keegan. Thank you for letting me be part of it
