Built for the 1968 Mexico Olympics, Félix Candela’s Palacio de los Deportes pushed structural design beyond pure engineering, using its dramatic copper-covered shell to transform a sports arena into an architectural spectacle that still defines Mexico City’s urban identity today. How can experimental structures like this continue to influence the relationship between architecture, performance, and public memory?

Dear beloved will of God,
Beautiful, sweet will of God,
Sublime in grace, a love that wraps me in peace,
Gladsome like a mother's embrace.
Here am I upon your hill,
Teach me how to be still.
Let me hide my wish in thee.
#PsalmsandHealing.
In a lowly silent labour;
In a humble Earnest toil.
Jesus be Thou honoured, Seen and Heard in every look of me.
Not my wish: but let Thy will be my every Heart's Desire — My all in all to be.

COPING & A COUNTRY (first posted 15th Aug., 2013)
A COUNTRY
I live in the north. I travel a bit around here, too. I can say with confidence that most Nigerians are too hungry to think. What I see traversing Jos —Karaye, and Gusau, and Damaturu, or Sokoto to Birnin Kebbi, is too horrible for words. Sometimes, tears — of pity for people's poverty, plus of gratitude for my 'good life', plus of frustration at the inefficiency of our leaders — tears, aggregated tears stream down my cheeks unbidden.
Truth be told, in this great country, the quest for survival alone could drive you crazy if your spine is not reinforced — not to speak of the pursuit of decided destiny/purpose. There is no energy left from trying to stay alive to expend on life itself. The greatest goal of many a countryman/woman of mine is staying alive. Survival exhausts purpose. You can't blame them. Empty stomachs can hardly sustain fertile minds or uphold thinking brains.
We must prod on.
For many, to think at all is torture because to think at all is to risk facing reality. You know, it's hard to contemplate and formulate advance without admitting current status; that is, without facing reality. And for many people, reality is like a sleeping monster, a monster rocked to sleep through resigned, unreflective living. Who wants to wake the monster? Please, let sleeping monsters lie. A lot of my people succeed here. They avoid reality — to retain sanity. But it is a sham. It is pseudo-sanity.
WAKE REALITY
We must reconstruct the concept of leadership and demand it from those who wear the leadership badge... We must reconfigure some of our sisters, some of our brothers, and elect them to lead us... We must pray God grace to do even more...
We need our country back. We NEED leadership, true leadership, back in the land. At all levels. Family. Political. Schools. Civil service. Corporations. The Police. All Arms/Tiers of Government. And Personally (yes, we should lead our individual lives well).
Let us value our days on earth enough to make it count for posterity, however hard the task. Relevance is not survival. It is more. Relevance is in what we infuse our surviving days with.
Several of our brothers and sisters are too hungry to think. Some of us, blessed by God with particular dexterity, are quite hungry too, yet we think through our hunger. Let's quit being own-Messiahs. Let's wake our country men/women up. Let's stimulate them, yes, aid them to begin to dream. Then to think. Then, to believe. Then to act... A step at a time. This hunger will not kill us. We will kill it. With vision. Teamwork. Hope. Hard work.
People, Awake.
(I stumbled upon a 2-part piece I did 10 years ago. This is a portion of the 2nd part, without any edits.
How very little things have changed, or have they changed a lot?)
I was so broke that year I texted a friend with my last airtime asking him for N2,000. He never replied.
I was sad and angry coz he was my last hope. I thought: "Ordinary 2k, my guy no fit send! And he didn't even care to reach out."
So to me, our friendship was over.
We normally love correcting others, but instinctively abhor being corrected.
Being corrected assumes you're wrong, and being wrong unpleasantly reminds us of our fallibility. And we don't want that reminder.
It's like knowing you snore but ashamed when someone is in the room

God could have prevented the fall of Adam & Eve in the garden of Eden, the same way He could have prevented COVID-19 if He had chosen to.
So, why does He allow tragedies, tragedies He does not desire, does not design? The clue is in the nature of the world He wanted. Come...
The journey moulds your character. Diligence and consistency will eventually bring financial success in God’s time & that’s when it’ll taste the sweetest.
Take some time today to be grateful for the many blessings God has poured out on you ♥️

I have noticed when I'm preaching away from @tph_jos that many instrumentalists are still majorly "performers."
I still don't get why they don't join worship (if they aren't on instruments) or care to listen to the word.
I don't get it...
Jesus fed the 5,000 but only 500 followed him after lunch. He had 12 disciples but only 3 prayed with him in the garden before his arrest. Then, only 1 stood with him at the cross. The closer you get to the cross, the smaller the crowd becomes
The Monkey Experiment.
Put 8 monkeys in a room. In the middle of the room is a ladder, leading to a bunch of bananas hanging from a hook on the ceiling. Each time a monkey tries to climb the ladder, all the monkeys are sprayed with ice water, which makes them miserable.
