Em-8ER began development in Unreal 4, and was ported to Unreal 5 in 2021. It remains to be seen whether the game will remain on Unreal 5 or be ported to Unreal 6 or an original, Grok-coded engine. https://t.co/oUOCBovXJh
Two years have passed since Grummz claimed to have been "doxxed" when a user in a Discord server shared the information for Crixa, LLC, the legal entity responsible for Em-8ER. In the time since, less than ten builds have been released, and the Kickstarter has not been launched.
The backend for the backer site is now fully restored on our new server infrastructure.
All existing backers and subscribers can now log in to manage their account.
Much thanks to the great web team and the community members who spent all day testing with us.
We are not accepting new signups at this time, and you must have an active backer account to log in.
Mark "Grummz" Kern blows off a journalist with the excuse that his "record is public." Since then, he has taken down the public Em-8ER forums and made the Discord server private.
Worth bringing this up again: Despite being deleted with my original account, I still have the questions I originally sent to Grummz for a prospective article hoping to get his side of the story.
He rejected them outright in a way that comes off VERY Jason Schreier-esque.
April 2, 2025: @SmashJT admits that backers have a right to be upset at @Grummz, and that he owes it to them to produce Em-8ER "in a timely manner." He has not mentioned the project since, despite Grummz's failure to do so.
One month has passed since Grummz assured backers he was "still working on stuff." He has not posted in the Em-8ER Discord server since, and Neliroo has been banned.
@Em_8er Despite claiming that he could not "censor X or moderate it," by the time he stopped posting on the Em-8ER account, he would limit replies due to the consistent ratios.
December 10, 2024: Grummz insists backers are free to voice their concerns on Discord, and that the community would be moving to X for even more visibility. More than a year has passed since the last post on the @Em_8ER account, and the Discord has been made private.
Two hours after posting this, the user was removed from the server. While no public statement has been made, analysis tools reveal activity in the private moderation channel.
