Hvorfor er der ikke afsat tid til at forskere kan formidle deres viden til offentligheden? Gode artikler i @Uniavisen om udfordringerne med at kreditere #forskningskommunation.
Vi gør allerede noget - og kan nemt gøre mere. Her tråd m mine erfaringer...

"If they don't [vote], this will be the last election," said the richest man in the world and the owner of one of the world's largest platforms for political communication.
The extreme rhetoric in current US politics reminds me of one of the best analyses of mobilizing propaganda: Horowitz's book, The Deadly Ethnic Riot (https://t.co/llPv367XPo).
He writes: "...the expectation of aggressive behavior from the target group is properly viewed as a form of projection, the attribution of motives or emotions to others because of motives or emotions felt by one-self. (...) Rumors of agression following other precipitants enable action to proceed with confidence in its necessity."
Rhetoric of this sort has shown itself to be tragically powerful throughout history.
How powerful can it be when it is fuelled by extraordinary economic resources and unprecedented audience reach?
It is key to emphasize that the rhetoric itself is clearly non-violent. As such, any effects will mainly be to mobilize Republicans to register and to vote.
But our research also has shown that, among people with dominance-oriented mindsets, political threats are more likely to be met with violence: https://t.co/X2CFfdw4rI. Such mindsets have been predictors of Trump support in prior elections: https://t.co/ADLzkU9ltw
My concern - as an outside European professor with expertise in political violence - is whether and how rhetoric of this kind will help justify electoral violence during the US election and increase the risk of it happening.
Calling all you experts in #paleontologi and #archaeologi Please help me: What I'm dealing with here?
Today I cleaned up at the old French vineyard, where in a few days I will be running a writing retreat. And then I came across these pieces of stone, bone and teeth...
I am close to the Pyrenees, where it is teeming with caves where our predecessors had lots of parties...
So I dream that the signs were scratched by a caveman 10,000 years ago 🤯 Or what?
And if so - is it ok, that they just hang around here in a private house?
#Science
I found them in some old plastic boxes (from the 60s, I think). All neatly labeled with 'Pyz'.
It looks like small pieces of flint/tools and then there are some bones and teeth.
The biggest piece of bone and teeth also have some marks, scratched into it!
Appropriated from another post.
Dear friends,
The headless woman was Marie Antoinette. She ruled over France and was found guilty of treason, conspiracy, and stealing from the country.
Also, it was not the Last Supper. It was a depiction of an ancient Greek Bacchanal… because, you know, the Olympics are ancient and Greek. Surprise!
And if you didn’t know, a Bacchanalia is an uncontrollably promiscuous, extravagant, and loud party. The parties often spanned several days which honored the god of wine, Bacchus (the blue guy covered in grape vine). He is also known as Dionysus, the Greek god of fertility, later known as the god of wine and pleasure.
And finally, it was not Death on a pale horse. It was Sequana, Goddess of the Seine, the River in which the boat precession took place. She was meant to be the representation of the Olympic spirit and of Sequana.
If some of you weren’t so busy trying to end the Dept. of Education, you might know this.
Loosen the clutch on your pearls and get your panties pulled out of your A** 😉
Yours truly,
Lady Francis
