Some time ago, on a rainy day, I drew these two causal loop diagrams to understand why it's so hard to solve Bangalore's infrastructure problems, and how Zoho's solution of investing in smaller towns and villages might actually help Bangalore.

One of my key takeaways from the exercise was that it's not about population or population density, but about the administrative capacity to deal with the diseconomies of scale.

Another key learning was that you can't stop people from coming to Bangalore (or big cities), but you have to create opportunities elsewhere so no one is forced to migrate.

Fabien doesn't want to sell his company, prefers to build talent internally, hires from smaller towns, gives more importance to real world skills than credentials + has a similar approach to building products & marketing.

Fabien even spent one year in India.
