@JustTeeBee If you can't deliver a feature-complete product, nobody gives a shit. Just because the frosting on an underbaked cake is tasty doesn't mean the cake is any good.
@boinksi This didn't fall out of the sky; they made a bad product year over year and didn't listen to player feedback. What did they expect? They have a responsibility to the players who buy their games. If they want jobs, make better products, or else fewer devs will work on the game.
@number1munko YUP, odds are they will, but right now it's 50/50. Before activation, it was 100% going to be trash if 343i made it. Best odds Halo has had in a decade. #haloforever
@FreakyAssRipper@Spooky_Sal LOL, you already did! It was called Halo 5's Warden Eternal. You must not have played that one. Once you fight him 6 times, it all blends together. #Haloforever
@Eltra_Phoenix@zeddikins If Activision messes things up, great; so would 343i, and if they launch a better game, great. It's time to put someone else in control. The children at Halo Studios/343i couldn't handle the responsibility and talked down to players as they pointed out issues year over year.
@Eltra_Phoenix@zeddikins The bar is so low that it doesn't matter what "better" is. 343i has never delivered a feature-complete product at launch in 14 years. Halo's fan base is old and aging out; this sunk-cost idea that if only 343i had more time, "next time will be better," is garbage.
Finally, Halo might actually get better. Microsoft should have made major changes 12 years ago. @Halo, sad to see you're still a studio. Glad to see the adults are finally in charge.
Calling it now. Halo Studios is gone. Just too much drama and can never seem to get shit done on time or at good quality. The Axe of Asha gonna be swift she don't play.
Looking over the Halo poll questions I posted a couple weeks ago has been super interesting. I know polls are not a perfect science for gathering data and I had about 40K respondents to most of them, but it helps gauge general sentiment. I also have no idea how many bots got thrown at them.
#1 How important is Master Chief to the future of Halo?
51% said they would prefer Chief plus additional new characters.
#2 For the next Halo, which should be the highest priority?
53% say PvP and PvE equally important.
#3 What direction would you prefer for the next Halo story?
This one is neck and neck between "Continue the current saga" (39.3%) and "New story, same universe" (38.2%).
The comments in the thread for this one also indicate there's a strong divide between the Bungie and 343 Halo games.
#4 How important is a serious esports/competitive scene to the future of Halo?
37% say Somewhat important. 32% say it's very important.
IMO, I would keep it but probably have a sister studio own the feature set.
#5 How important is the Cortana/Chief relationship to Halo's future?
46% say Their story is complete.
Buh-bye Cortana, I guess MS will need to find a new AI voice.
#6 How important is Atriox to the future of Halo?
51% say Important but not central. Only 18% said he's essential.
#7 What tone should define the future of Halo?
52% say Dark, gritty and grounded. 45% want epic space opera.
To be honest, a blend of both is not difficult.
Most of you are speaking my language! Yeah baby.
Who all is going to #halofest this December? It’ll be my first time getting to attend a Halo community event, and would love to say hey to as many wonderful people in this community at the convention as I can!
