The most iconic moment in Vietnamese football for me has to be the second leg of the 2008 Suzuki Cup final. Le Cong Vinh scores the winning goal in the final seconds of stoppage time against rivals Thailand 🇹🇭, sending the fans at My Dinh Stadium into pandemonium!! 🏆 🇻🇳
Another awesome thing to witness has been the growth on the women’s side. From the national team booking the country’s first ever WC ticket to seeing Huynh Nhu move to Portugal and hold her own there! Then we saw the first professional contracts signed for the domestic league! ❤️
@FootyVietnam One that wasn’t on my radar but I’m kicking myself because I follow Pacific FC and didn’t know is Viet heritage is Pierre Lamothe. When I a pic of him in my hometown of Da Nang, I was like cool, he’s vacationing.
It’s been a while peeps. Just wanted to pop up and say how awesome it’s been to see the VFF/VPF embrace overseas Viet players for the upcoming V.League 1 season! Seeing soo many new names and faces turning up in the motherland to make a name for themselves! ❤️
@QuanTue Bro, I’d take him too. Veterans coming from overseas can only help clubs. Maybe even create new coaches (unless they come only up strong arm clubs for over excessive wages).
It’s been an incredible 8 year run for this account. Viet soccer has grown leaps and bounds since I started it. Sadly, this will be the last tweet from it. I hope everyone nothing but the best in this crazy thing we call life. Take care! One love!
