@AustralianLabor govt must provide permanent residency w/ full rights for all refugees it has left in limbo, onshore & offshore - inc those left in Nauru & PNG.
Thinking this morning of the 6 refugees who, after nearly 10 years, are finally waking up to freedom in NZ.

Please call for the Australian Government to put an end to this torment and grant refugees who were sent to Nauru and Manus permanent protection https://t.co/HYzRLLm188

Long term bridging visas is a torturous form of limbo.
Is the Department of Immigration incompetent or simply unprofessional for the past decade.

South Aussies have rallied at Victoria Drive in the city, pushing for change to offshore detention for asylum seekers. It has been nearly nine years since Australia resumed offshore processing for refugees arriving by boat. 7NEWS Adelaide at 6pm | https://t.co/8ftPfGgvkq #7NEWS
'It's utter crap.'
Dr Nick Martin, a former medical officer on Nauru island where the Australian government sent asylum seekers, says the UK is not stopping the people-smuggling trade with its Rwanda refugee deal.
@DavidLammy
Why do we accept this corruption? A moral & financial blackhole. Liberal Party donor Canstruct had just $8 in assets when awarded a $385 million contract to run Nauru detention centre. Now $1.6 billion in total (no tender for all $$). It’s why these refugees are still locked up.
What a condescending, patronising tone you have @karenandrewsmp. Mindful of the impact you say? Yet here we are 9 years on..... still dehumanising and torturing innocent human beings.

The one glimmer of good from the whole #Djokovic fiasco - the world got a glimpse of the #Australian Govt grotesque barbaric indefinite detention of #refugees- some for 8 or so years. No trial, no recourse, no hope. Yes - torture. https://t.co/r3h25VWW7S
Offshore detention: every Australian's shame.
Omid's inquest findings encapsulate why it is WRONG of Australia to hold refugees in indefinite detention on remote tropical islands.

Intimidating & unnecessary behaviour again by Border Force. #auspol
Harassing people who needed to ask for safety. They have overreaching powers & need to be disbanded. #refugees today you tomorrow
