Amma canteens see 55% rise in daily footfall after quality upgrade, says @chennaicorp.

The civic body said the average number of people using the city's 383 Amma canteens has risen from 67,164 in April to 1,04,102 now.

The corporation said the increase in patronage has also boosted revenue.

Monthly earnings from Amma canteens have risen from Rs 87.6 lakh in April to Rs 1.36 crore at present.

GCC had carried out a Rs 7 crore upgrade immediately after the CM C Joseph Vijay announced its renovation.
