FINAL #NFL GAME AT "THE MET"

The #Vikings play their final game at Metropolitan Stadium in Bloomington — a 10-6 loss to the Chiefs.

"The Met" was the team's home from 1961 to 1981 — they would move indoors to the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome in Minneapolis in 1982.

The video includes the first moments of NBC's telecast of the game, followed by various NFL Films retrospectives and player recollections of The Met — its magical moments, and the great Vikings who called it their home over the years.

Legendary Edina Hockey Coach Willard Ikola was a significant part of my childhood. My 6 older brothers all played for Coach Ike & this was my favorite spot, right behind his bench. He was also my 7th grade gym teacher at Southview Junior High. Nobody like him. RIP Coach Ike.
