When did teachers become full-time election workers?
In Maharashtra, thousands of teachers have taken to the streets to protest being assigned Booth Level Officer (BLO) duties, despite threats of salary cuts. Reports indicate that over 60% of schools remained shut as educators chose to protest instead of reporting for these non-teaching assignments.
Every day a teacher spends on electoral paperwork is a day taken away from the classroom. Students lose learning hours, schools are disrupted, and the quality of education suffers.
Elections are vital to democracy, but so is education. If the machinery of governance repeatedly depends on teachers to perform administrative tasks unrelated to teaching, it raises a fundamental question: Are we strengthening democracy at the cost of our children’s education?
Teachers deserve respect, not coercion. Their primary responsibility is to educate the next generation—not to be a permanent reserve workforce for every administrative exercise.
A nation that truly values education protects the classroom first. With innumerable deaths and BLO suicide letters afloat on Social Media why are these impositions still being made against teachers? Stop 🛑

For example, they claim on this poster that all psychiatric disorders are digestive disorders and discuss illogical matters such as "gut fire" as the reason (and they claim Ayurveda is not pseudoscientific - please fools, give us a break already). 1/2 A whole government Ministry is unleashed on me - because I speak against unscientific practices and primitive traditional healthcare that can harm, I communicate scientific information for public and patients alike.
This was an official memo released during the Ministry of Ayush meeting on 12-6-2026 fully dedicated towards shutting down my social media presence.
Imagine - the people in this meeting were eating biscuits and drinking tea, paid for by the citizens of the country - to decide how to gag and shutdown a citizen doctor who educates people on medical science via social media.
Yesterday, my Instagram account was briefly hacked, but I got back control and removed unauthorized access within an hour.
The Article 51A(h) of the Indian Constitution outlines the fundamental duty of every citizen to develop a "scientific temper, humanism, and the spirit of inquiry and reform". Added during the 42nd Amendment in 1976, this non-justiciable directive promotes logical reasoning, critical thinking, and rationality.
The Ayush system is not scientific, it kills scientific temper, it does not promote the spirit of inquiry, it lacks logical reasoning, has the deadest version of critical thinking and none of its products and practices are rational.
The only thing that needs to be shut down, is an unscientific body like Ayush that goes against the Indian Constitution and wastes public tax money... and not me.
Also, please look closely at the person at the end, who is copied to, by the Ministry. His name is Vaidya K P Manikandan and he is the owner and founder of CNS Ayurveda Hospital, where children are treated for chronic conditions such as severe mental health disorders, autism and epilepsy (please see an official release from the hospital in the next post). One such victim of his was saved by my team (we reported it: https://t.co/eXeWt2n6N7) and he put a criminal defamation case against me and the authors (for publishing a scientific peer reviewed paper!) which was later "stayed" by the High Court of Kerala.
This has nothing to do with service to patients, but everything to do with protecting the business of alternative medicine (especially Ayurveda). These low life complaintants should be ashamed.

Dear friends, we have published the largest analytical study of Ayurveda, Homeopathy, Siddha, Unani and Folk-Traditional Medicinal products that have harmed patients - presenting with liver damage - to our department. This is the most exhaustive analytical study that correlated clinical outcomes in such patients.
Interestingly, one of the Reviewers who peer-reviewed our paper (notification after paper publication) and cleared it for publication is a senior professor of Ayurveda (Rasashastra and Bhaishajya Kalpana) at All India Institute of Ayurveda. This makes our paper even more impactful.
Here is a plain language summary of the study's major findings, highlighting what patients and the public need to know about the safety of alternative medicines:
Severe Liver Damage is a Major Risk: The study looked at 386 alternative and complementary medicines taken by patients who experienced liver damage. It found that these products frequently triggered a severe, life-threatening form of liver failure, called Acute-on-chronic liver failure (or ACLF) which resulted in death for nearly 40% of the patients who developed it.
Unlabeled Products Can Be Deadly: Taking "unlabeled" products—those sold without proper ingredient lists, manufacturer details, or batch numbers—was a strong predictor of death. The risk of dying increased the more unlabeled products a patient consumed, showing how dangerous an unregulated supply chain can be. Data revealed a dose-response relationship where death rates escalated progressively, reaching 42.9% among patients who consumed three or more unlabeled products.
Dangerous Levels of Heavy Metals: A shocking number of the tested products were heavily contaminated with toxic metals like mercury, lead, arsenic, and cadmium, often at levels far above safety limits. Exposure to cadmium, in particular, was strongly linked to patients developing the most severe form of liver failure. Exposure to cadmium was strongly and significantly associated with the development of ACLF (75.9% in exposed versus 22.6% in unexposed patients).
Hidden Prescription Drugs: Almost one-third of the products secretly contained modern pharmaceutical drugs, meaning patients were taking them without knowing. These hidden drugs included steroids, antibiotics, and painkillers, and some were even banned or well-known to cause liver damage.
"Natural" Doesn't Always Mean Safe: Over 40% of the products contained plant ingredients that are medically documented to be toxic to the liver. Well-known herbs like Giloy (Tinospora cordifolia) and Ashwagandha were among the most common potentially harmful plants found in the products.
Secret Animal Ingredients: Testing revealed that nearly a third of the products contained undisclosed animal ingredients (such as dairy, marine products, or animal extracts). This is a major concern for vegans, vegetarians, and people with religious dietary restrictions who believe they are taking plant-based medicines.
Risks from Concentrated Plant Extracts: The study discovered that high concentrations of certain common plant fats and compounds (called phytosterols) were tied to higher rates of severe liver failure. This shows that highly concentrated "natural" extracts can act differently in the body and become harmful, even if they come from everyday plants.

Exercise: The Most Underused Blood Pressure Drug
As a neurologist, I often tell patients this:
If exercise were a pill, it would be one of the most widely prescribed drugs in the world.
Because the effect of exercise on blood pressure is real, measurable, and surprisingly large.
Let us look at what the evidence shows.
▶️How much can exercise lower BP?
Different forms of exercise lower blood pressure to different degrees.
1. Aerobic exercise (brisk walking, jogging, cycling, swimming)
• Average reduction: 5–8 mmHg systolic
• Works in both hypertensive and normotensive individuals
• 30–45 minutes, most days of the week
Even a 5 mmHg drop reduces stroke risk by about 14%.
2. Resistance training (weight training, resistance bands)
• Reduction: 4–6 mmHg systolic
• Also improves insulin sensitivity and metabolic health
Best when done 2–3 times per week along with aerobic exercise.
3. Isometric exercise (wall sits, handgrip exercises)
Surprisingly powerful.
• Reduction: 8–12 mmHg systolic in some studies
• One of the largest BP reductions seen with exercise
Example: handgrip exercise for 2 minutes × 4 sets, several days per week.
4. Yoga / slow breathing / pranayama
• Reduction: 3–5 mmHg on average
• Helpful particularly in stress-related hypertension
Works best as an adjunct, not a replacement.
✅When is exercise alone enough?
Exercise alone may control BP in:
• High-normal BP (130–139 / 85–89)
• Stage 1 hypertension without other risk factors
• Younger individuals with sedentary lifestyle
In these cases, 3–6 months of lifestyle therapy may normalize BP without drugs.
▶️When exercise must be combined with medicines?
Lifestyle alone is usually not enough when:
• BP ≥160/100 mmHg
• Diabetes, kidney disease, or prior stroke
• Multiple cardiovascular risk factors
• Long-standing hypertension
Here, exercise becomes a powerful add-on therapy, often allowing lower drug doses.
✅A useful perspective
Typical BP reduction with:
• One antihypertensive drug: ~10 mmHg systolic
• Regular exercise: ~5–8 mmHg
So exercise is roughly half a BP pill, but with dozens of additional health benefits.
✅Bottom line
The most effective “exercise prescription” for BP:
• 150 minutes/week aerobic exercise
• 2–3 sessions/week resistance training
• Add isometric exercises or yoga

"We are going through financial hardship since the main bread earner of the family was killed by terrorists on April 22 last year. I had to give up my job in the private sector to be with my mother, who has been going through a tough time.
To add insult to injury, we are now being made to run from pillar to post for the government job assured by the state government.
We are shocked by the treatment from the administration, which is asking us to make rounds of Mantralaya to get our work done. The politicians just buy time by giving us false assurances that the process is on, but till date there is no communication from anyone on any progress.
It was the Chief Minister who made the announcement of a government job to me, while the two Deputy Chief Ministers had also assured us of support to this end. As the focus from the incident shifted, there has been no one who has communicated anything in writing about the job. In fact, no one has even enquired about me and my mother since then.
I cannot take up a job in the private sector to avoid the technicalities of leaving it in between, but I don’t have a government job in hand either. We are managing our finances only through our savings - no one can understand our sufferings.
It is the responsibility of the government to take care of us till we die, as our main bread earner has died because of them. I cannot forget what the terrorists said during the attack as they took the name of Narendra Modi and killed people on religious grounds.
I also wrote to the Prime Minister’s Office, but there was no reply from there too. Our efforts to meet the chief minister during his Pune visit went in vain as the authorities turned us away citing his busy schedule."

इन पर कोई कंट्रोल नहीं होता जो मर्जी रेसिपी बनाते है , मेयोनीज बनाते है , लाल मिर्च की चटनी बनाकर बेचते है। आदमी चटकारे के नाम पर जहर खा रहा है और नए उम्र के बच्चे ऐसे खाकर कभी फट्टी लीवर तो कभी कैंसर जैसे बीमारियों से ग्रसित होते है।
कई मामलों में देखा गया है किसी भी प्रकार का धूम्रपान ना करने वाले लोग भी लिवर फेल्योर और कैंसर से मर रहे है , सबका कारण अनहाइजेनिक फूड , palm ऑयल और मेयोनीज और कलर फूल केमिकल में मर रहे है।
इन पर किसी का कंट्रोल नहीं है , कोई जांच नहीं है। ना ही नेताओं की और जांच एजेंसियां को कोई दिलचस्पी है। खुले में ठेला लगाते है, सड़क की धूल , घटिया पानी और गंदे हाथ में बनाकर तैयार करते है।
