No network connectivity in the neighbouring areas of Parappana Agrahara Jail, while inside the prison, reports and allegations suggest a completely different story: full network access, pornography, illegal mobile phone sales, and even a “beer factory” operating within the prison premises.
Meanwhile, ordinary residents outside are left struggling with poor or non-existent mobile connectivity. #jailjammer
Petitions are pending. Residents’ concerns are being ignored. There is no visible action plan.
So the question is simple: What is the authorities’ concrete action plan to control the frequency and reach of the jammers so that they affect only the prison premises and not the surrounding residential areas?
If technology is being used to jam signals, why is it apparently so difficult to contain that interference within the jail?
Is this really rocket science, or is it simply a matter of accountability and willingness to fix the problem?

The jammer issue currently appears to be stuck at the recalibration stage in Bhopal. Ideally, this should have been addressed during Smt. Malini Krishnamurthi Ma’am’s tenure.

We would also like to discuss whether a reverse-engineering approach could provide a practical solution—possibly by allowing the network signal outside while effectively blocking it inside.

We would be grateful for an opportunity to meet and explain the matter in detail.

@MkrishnappaMla @MLAMkrishnappa Sir, the road work from Mahaveer Ranches to Choodasandra has been pending for over a year, while residents continue to suffer on one of the most pathetic, pothole-ridden roads in the area.

And the contractor’s excuse? “US–Iraq war is the reason we can’t start the work.” Seriously?

How long will people be forced to risk their lives and vehicles on this road? We need action, not excuses. Please intervene and get this work started immediately.

Is Parappana Agrahara Jail a prison or a pleasure lounge?

Outside the jail, thousands of residents struggle with “No Network”, missed calls, failed OTPs, disrupted UPI payments and even unreliable emergency communication because of powerful signal jammers.

Inside the same high-security prison, convicted former MP Prajwal Revanna was reportedly found with a 5G smartphone, WhatsApp, Instagram, Netflix and other apps. Reports also say the phone contained 90 pornographic videos.

And this is not an isolated lapse: 127 mobile phones were seized from the prison in just two months, despite jammers, CCTV and security measures.

Seeking a Solution to Mobile & Internet Connectivity Issues for the neighbourhood residents of Parappana Agrahara Central Prison

I met Shri Amit Agarwal, Secretary, Department of Telecommunications, and brought to his attention the serious disruption of mobile communication and internet services in the areas surrounding Parappana Agrahara Central Prison due to the installation of the Tower-Harmonious Call Blocking System (T-HCBS) and high-frequency Wi-Fi jammers.

Residents in the vicinity are facing considerable difficulties in their daily lives. The disruption has become particularly challenging during medical emergencies, for students attending online classes, and for employees working from home. The proximity of Electronic City, a major corporate hub, makes reliable connectivity even more essential for many residents and professionals in the area.

While prison security and preventing unauthorised communication by inmates are of utmost importance, it is equally necessary to ensure that legitimate communication needs of the surrounding residents are not adversely affected.

I requested Shri Amit Agarwal to look into the matter and explore a suitable technical solution that safeguards prison security while restoring reliable mobile and internet connectivity for the local community.

Shri Amit Agarwal responded positively and directed the concerned officials to examine the issue and take necessary steps to resolve it at the earliest.

I will continue to follow up on the matter to ensure that the residents of the surrounding areas do not face unnecessary hardship in their day-to-day communication.
