@avfc_stef I thought Barkley 1st half at least was the shining light in the team, was really driving it forward. Also think Buendia is struggling with the pressure of responsibility for goals. Hemmings is obviously not the finished article, seen good flashes from him....

@greenkeeperdave @villareport Martinez never had the manger coming out all but saying he's refusing to play. The difference is professionalism, there's one thing to want away but honour your contract, another to force a move to the detriment of the club.

@WayneHopkins44 @calymeneAVFC I always think that ultimately you only get one career in football and it's not that long, I understand players going to where they're going to be paid significantly more as long as you've put in a shift for the team and leave in a professional manner I respect players leaving.

@calymeneAVFC I was saying, it's such a shame, Watkins could have been a legend leaving Villa, leaving in a professional manner, even if it was just for a Saudi pay day, he could have gone down as a forever fan favourite but he's completely obliterated his legacy at Villa Park.

@ForzaAstonVilla At this point I'm pretty cool with whoever Emery brings in, it's not like he's unproven in bringing players in and improving them, I get the sense with his signings it's never about the player it's about how they fit into the team dynamic, good, cohesive team building.

@avfc_stef 🤣 A cat amongst the pigeons here. I think Emery builds a team that work well off each other, It wouldn't be a massive surprise if Rogers or Watkins don't reach the level they're at outside of Villa (not to say they can't of course) I reckon Jackson would excel under Emery.

@avfc_stef I feel like at this point as long as we have Emery the players that come and go are irrelevant. It's as though he has that "moneyball" view of players, it's not the name or hype that surrounds them that matters it's how their attributes contribute to the cohesion of the team.
