There is a very big difference between civic unrest and war .
You have lived through apartheid but you have not lived or seen a war in your life .
People who have seen it or experienced it don't trivialize it

Take Mozambique for example which was fighting Portuguese encroachment since the 14th century .
The Shona-Portuguese wars and the much earlier conquest of Zanzibar by Oman

There is a big difference with war activity and it's outcomes . That was not a war .
