(1/n) This study investigated clinical outcomes in patients who developed myocarditis within 28 days of either COVID-19 vaccination or disease, in comparison to conventional myocarditis. To do this they used relative risk (RR) = IRvaccinated (or IRdisease) / IRconventional.
(4/n) overall the paper reports that patients who develop myocarditis associated with vaccination have better clinical outcomes than their COVID-19 positive counter parts.
(3/n) (ii) the RR of heart failure within 90 days was ~62% less for those vaccinated than those who tested positive for the disease [0.56 vs 1.48]. (iii) the RR of death within 90 days was ~80% less in vaccinated than disease positive [0.48 vs 2.35].
(2/n) The main results: (i) RR of readmission to hospital within 90 days was ~44% greater in those who had myocarditis associated with COVID-19 vaccine compared to those who had myocarditis associated with COVID-19 disease [0.79 vs 0.55].

Research—motivation often FOLLOWS action, not the other way around.
In practice—you don't need to feel good to get going; you need to get going to give yourself a chance at feeling good:
@neuromecHAHNics @Geoff_A_Power (2/2) Work was similar in voluntary contractions because all the voluntary conditions had the same (maximal) effort being performed through the same 40 degree ROM. It changed in the stim condition because much less force was elicited by the stim.
@neuromecHAHNics @Geoff_A_Power (1/n) Since this study took place over 3 time points (baseline, 1h, and 24h), we wanted to make sure our values of rFE and rFD were as consistent as possible. In piloting we found that having participants maximally contract through the dynamic phase best achieved this.
