We are protecting the American worker by shutting down the pipeline of systemic fraud that has flooded our country with foreign labor at the expense of American workers. 🇺🇸
Vice President JD Vance on the lie being pushed to the American people:
“There’s this pernicious idea, and @StephenM alluded to it, which is that Americans are not good enough for the jobs in their own country… To the American people, this visa fraud is a frontal assault on the idea that you deserve to inherit the jobs and the positions in your own country. Never believe the lie that Americans are not good enough to build a future for Americans. That’s what visa fraud tells you, it is a lie, and the President of the United States does not stand for it, and neither does anybody on this stage.”
.@VP: "There has been no company in the United States, unfortunately, that has abused this system more than Microsoft."
Microsoft laid off 6,000 American workers in 2025 after certifying that it could not find qualified American employees — yet the company was approved for more than 6,000 H-1Bs and filed 3,682 PERM applications, including nearly 1,000 applications for the same positions as the laid off American workers.
We’re cutting off the head of the snake and protecting American Workers.
Beginning today, @USDOL is SUSPENDING Microsoft and Adobe among other companies from the permanent visa program. After a pipeline of systemic fraud has flooded our country for years with foreign labor, we’re putting an end to it today.
We are taking action under the direction of @POTUS and with the leadership of @VP and @USLaborIG on the @WHFraudTF—DELIVERING for the American People, protecting their money, and punishing fraudsters. 💪 🇺🇸
This statement from Microsoft, regarding the 6,000 H-1B visa applications this year, is wildly dishonest.
I spent many years working at Microsoft in the late 90s through the early 2000’s.
During that time I experienced and witnessed widespread discrimination against White employees.
- Long time “rockstar” White devs were given lower review ratings (and, hence, fewer pay raises) than their Indian co-workers (who were regularly less productive). Not occasionally. This happened so often that it was the norm.
- Indian managers would primarily only hire other Indian (and occasionally other Asian) applicants over White or Black applicants. Even when the White applicants were more qualified and local… and the Indian applicants required visa sponsorship, relocation costs, and extra accommodations. Again, not every now and then. This was the norm.
- On one time, the Indian management at Microsoft stuffed every White, Male employee (and ONLY White, Male employees) into a small office the size of a closet… while every Indian employee (even new, entry level ones) were given their own offices. Often with fancy-shmancy views.
I’ve kept in touch with many Microsoft engineers and managers… and, from everything I’ve heard from actual Microsoft employees, the situation has not improved in the slightest. It has gotten worse in many teams and Business Units.
Yes, most Microsoft employees in the USA are citizens of the USA. But they are not treated equally.

Robert Jenrick has been reported to the police and the UK's counter-terror programme Prevent over his comments about Islam.
He’d described the “Islamification” of Britain as one of the greatest threats to “our way of life.”
I’m not Jenrick’s biggest fan but he’s clearly spot on here.
We are a Christian country being taken over by Islam!
That politicians are reported for stating the obvious is dangerously worrying.
We are governed by a police state.
@TheGentsRooms@rohanpaul_ai It's completely unclear whether that GPT5 coding benchmark refers to the native 1.6-bit architecture or the full unquantized baseline. I guarantee it's the latter -marketing a 1.6-bit breakthrough while using full-precision metrics to claim dominance over GPT5 is disingenuous.
@rohanpaul_ai Look at that set, piling all staff members into the conference room to stage a keynote presentation? The optics look clinically sh*t.
If you are going to copy Apples keynote speech approach, copy it.
This low rate bollywood budget approach is painful to view.
@troyhunt so the lock has bluetooth permanently enabled too? no key press action or something to turn it on? fk me, might as well just leave the key for anyone.
Andy Burnham: "I won't accept that there's nothing I can do to help."
He's joking, right? About 46% of the price of filling up your tank is TAX. That's absolutely something the PM could do something about. And how about expanding drilling for oil and gas in the North Sea?
@Ed_Miliband Furthermore, if you failed to reach an understanding, the correct phrasing isn't 'we would not' -it's 'we do not'.
The incompetent tw*ts of Labour are destroying UK relations world wide.
You're a clown Sillyband.
@Ed_Miliband What kind of phrasing is 'without an understanding'? If you actually reached an understanding, why are you removing your staff? The truth is clear: your team is a group of antisemitic incompetents reaping exactly what you sowed. The consulate and its staff have been banished.
Islamists have a problem with music, with dogs, with women, with gay people, with Christians, with free speech, with democracy.
But if I have a problem with Islamists, I'm the intolerant one.
