Over the years, #droughts have intensified across Kenya & #EastAfrica, worsening food insecurity & water scarcity. Early warning systems & anticipatory actions are key to reducing these impacts.
#ICPAC, @CGIARAfricaIARAfrica, @NDMA_Kenya, @NDOCKenya & @MeteoKenya are developing an action plan for the Kenya Drought Watch System. This includes assessing Kenya's drought early warning system, aligning it with the East Africa Drought Watch, and reviewing triggers & thresholds to ensure timely, proactive drought responses.
