A tyrant must appear deeply religious. People are less likely to fear injustice from a ruler they believe is pious. They are also less likely to rebel because they think God is on his side. ~ Aristotle
Time to ponder Gyanesh Kumar 's past
A suicide note by Malaysian contractor Lee See Been
Before Gyanesh Kumar became the Chief Election Commissioner of India, there was a disturbing chapter in his Kerala posting .
Gyanesh Kumar was a 1988-batch Kerala-cadre IAS officer served as Project Director of the Kerala State Transport Project (KSTP).
The KSTP involved Malaysian contractor PATI-BEL.
Lee See Been was chief project officer of PATI-BEL, working on the World Bank-aided KSTP.
In 2006, Lee See Been, the Malaysian project manager of the World Bank-aided Kerala State Transport Project, died by suicide.
In his suicide note, Lee See Been clearly named Gyanesh Kumar, who was PWD Secretary then and alleged that bribes were being demanded and that funds due to the project were being withheld and delayed.
This was not just a random allegation floating around years later.
It was an allegation recorded in the suicide note of the man at the centre of the project dispute.
Gyanesh Kumar was transferred.
Today, that same Gyanesh Kumar sits at the helm of the Election Commission of India and was entrusted with safeguarding the integrity of the electoral process.
How did an officer whose name appeared in a suicide note alleging bribery and withholding of funds eventually rise to become the custodian of India's elections?

Yesterday, @IndianExpress reported an unprecedented rupture inside the Election Commission: TWO of its three members objecting on record, 14 times in 10 months, to decisions taken without their knowledge.
Today, the second part of our investigation looks at the concern Election Commissioners Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Vivek Joshi flagged most often: Who really controls our electoral rolls?
We followed that question to Goa, where we found something deeply concerning.
Stay with me....

I’m ready to hit the streets.
Let’s go to Jantar Mantar and bring another revolution.
Let’s bring Modi, Shah, and Gyanesh down.
Let’s hit them hard this time.
#ECI#SIR#VOTECHORI
CEC Gyanesh Kumar had asked @RahulGandhi to either apologize or file an affidavit with proof of #VoteChori allegations. He had set a deadline of 7 days. "There is no third option," he said.
I now ask the CEC to either resign or file an affidavit with the Supreme Court proving that the @IndianExpress report is false.
There is no third option.
We spent months investigating the inner working of the EC.
What we found: the majority of the Commission, kept in the dark for almost a year.
Election Commissioners Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Vivek Joshi objected on record at least 14 times in 10 months, FOUR times on a single day, to decisions taken in the Commission's name without their knowledge.
Here is what they flagged:

I am saying it again.
BJP had lost :
– 2024 General Elections
– Maharashtra
– Bihar
– Delhi
– West Bengal
– Haryana
– Madhya Pradesh
– Chattisgarh
Gyanesh Kumar made BJP win these states via SIR & vote-chori.
This is clear & direct attack on Indian Constitution & Democracy
Why doesn't Uday Kotak advice companies like TCS or Reliance or INFY on how they have accumulated enormous wealth in cash which is sitting ducks and isn't put to better use?
Why is all the lecturing only for people he want to grab the wealth from and charge for people storing their wealth?
What even is the point of all this moral posturing?
First, the black money of politicians, babus and crony capitalists needs to be used for building infrastructure and innovation.
Will be good for the economy.
No Sakshi, people are not trolling you for your factual opinion but for your selective criticism and performative journalism.
Nobody is taking money to troll you. Don’t give yourself this much importance.
PS: Don’t talk about bosses who pay money because a lot of people know a lot of things here :)
I get the sentiment, that's exactly how I feel when someone is eating paneer around me. The stench of curdled milk just makes me wanna puke and I always make it a point to tell them to make better life choices. Paneer-itarians are bottom of the barrel for me and I refuse to eat with them. 🤢🤢🤢
