In addition to continuing quality learning, finding ways to stay connected despite learning from a distance is so important.This week we had a virtual paper airplane contest. Next week, virtual spirit week: PJ Day, Crazy Hat Day, Hero Day, School Spirt Day, etc. Any other ideas?
I arranged a virtual class visit with fantasy author
@kristan_julius
today. The kids had fantastic, insightful questions for her and felt very validated as budding authors when they conferenced with her about their own fantasy writing. Learning continues-even from a distance!
Week 1 Distance Learning: The thing that my students have loved the most this week is the daily audio recordings of our read aloud I've posted to G Classroom. They get to comment to me and each other on their thoughts about the reading. It's been a great way to stay connected!
@MathThatMatters Getting into how to bring rich tasks and deep thinking into my classroom at the Math Specialists in International Schools training Session. 3 with #ErmaAnderson
Students are deepening their understanding of realistic fiction and how to craft stories that include interesting and relatable characters, problems that require complex solutions, and a message or lesson. Really proud of them!
So proud of my students as they showed very deep thinking when we kicked off our human migration unit. They developed our question board which will guide us in our inquiry.
I am so proud of the students who have put their heart and soul into making this beautiful and extensive garden. We will be cooking up some kale and having some salad for our class party!
Interesting article. Another reason I am so glad to be teaching in an international school and raising our daughter with such opportunities!https://t.co/IPvN0vt0l6
I am so proud of my students who (totally on their own) developed and executed this class book exchange. What a great way to reuse resources and cut down on waste!
