✳️ NEW | Israel’s security cabinet has decided that it will not discuss the latest ceasefire and captive-release proposal in tomorrow’s meeting, despite pushback from its own defense chiefs, Channel 12 reports.

The deal — crafted by Egypt and Qatar and approved by Hamas on August 18 — would see the release of 10 captives and the bodies of 18 others during a 60-day truce, followed by talks on a permanent ceasefire. It closely resembles an earlier U.S. proposal pushed by envoy Steve Witkoff, but Netanyahu’s government has shown no interest, prioritizing the illegal capture of Gaza City.
