Ex Bioware dev here. I'm responsible for some of the "Bioware Turns". This anim is part of a set called "Posebreakers" which are intended to move characters around the area if a scene is feeling too static. We'd combine them with the infamous "Exit Left/Right" between cuts.
@MassEffect_News Nearly all E3 demos from all studios are a "slice" or guestimation of what they want to make for the full game. Some miss target due to technicalities. Unfortunately you can't always predict how things will go. Compare Half Life 2's E3 footage to what eventually released.
@DLjunggren Zombie Panic was the trailer. CineDes implements mocap animation and choreographs the majority of scenes in the games as well as technical design work. Sometimes we'd make custom hand animation.
@reddrakonmo There was about 14 on our team at any one time, each setting up scenes using the same animations. So I set up some scenes with the arms crossed pose along with the others. Originally it was another mocap recording.
@JoshHoodTheBard Many animations propagate through lots of Bioware franchises. ME3's Thane/Kai Leng fight cutscene has a lot of Jade Empire combat animations stitched together.
