@Noahpinion There's still backlash to what people called "political correctness" in the 90s. Hell there's still backlash to the result of the civil war. Don't know if current ideological wars will ever truly die anytime soon, even if they ebb and flow and become niche temporarily/permenantly

@AishaDaughter Tbf Africa has always been racially diverse and there has been a euro precense for millenia. I think that 0.1% perspective might be a bit dodgy based on the fact that most African countries don't do racial stats and is probably based on certain SA communities

@IonaItalia Forgot to mention that I've seen people in Japan think the UK is an ethnostate. Most people in Asia don't have much of a knowledge of modern immigration to the west and aren't exposed to English/european language written sources and can't follow western news efficiently.

@IonaItalia Often it's because people, especially internationally, can't comprehend the idea that someone whose not white could be of a European identity be it British or otherwise. In many parts of the world the image of Europe and European identities is homogenous
