@ataraxiabts Do you mean when he said she’s different, or when he title dropped her as 'Mother of Khaenri'ah'? Personally, I don’t think either option was Dain trying to justify his actions, but rather stating his stance. Not to mention, he left immediately after meeting her.
I genuinely wanna know why people want Dain to disrespect tsaritsa, when he doesn’t even disrespect Nahida? Like what did she do to deserve the disrespect? Isn’t she the only archon who actively cares about the Khaenri’ahns. Isn’t she the only archon who gave them shelter?
ok this isn't meant to be condescending but the ppl talking ab dain respecting anastasya making sense because she's "the mother of khaenri'ah" don't really seem to understand dain 😭 when has "blood" ever mattered to him. he literally wants to take revenge on his own brother
The Tsaritsa wasn’t the Archon at the time of the Cataclysm, she became one afterward, and since then, she has been actively trying to save as many Khaenri'ahns as she can. If Dain hates her for this, forget about calling him a hypocrite—that would make him an actual idiot.
“But didn’t Dain say we shouldn’t trust gods?”
Do you guys understand what advice actually is? He was just trying to give the Traveler a general warning about the nature of gods in Teyvat, considering how new they were to this world.
Dain might be shady but this is incorrect. Dain only knew that Rerir worked for the secret service not the atrocities that he was doing.
As for Irmin. Dain had already been planning to do something about him, as mentioned by Rhine. Ved getting hurt was his final straw.
@taymeron775 Exactly this he was just assuming they will be okay with his work, and he also adds assuming they know all the facts… yet people still don’t get it.
@dainsleifhour Thats the thing. There is so much missing context that its too early to play the blame game. Dain is shady I agree but I don't get why people want him to be a complete hypocrite so much so that they distort real facts about his story when there is so much nuance to his character.
@racherofrerir But why are you assuming he wasn’t going to put his plan into action? It makes no sense. He was most likely in the middle of planning. After all a coup is not a simple thing to do. But Ved’s injury made him sped up his plan, which is only natural.
@racherofrerir I think you are undermining how difficult it is to carry out a coup. You are basically saying Dain is incompetent. He wasn’t fast enough to stop king Irmin. That’s too harsh.
But that still doesn’t make him a hypocrite u know. Because planning a coup it self means rebellion.
@racherofrerir I don't get it. Doesn't the fact that he was planning the coup against King Irmin even before Ved got hurt prove that he isn't a hypocrite?
@racherofrerir Not really. As Rhine mentioned, Dain was already planning a coup against King Irmin. ( She says you have been planning this for a while ) Ved's injury just accelerated his timeline, so calling him a hypocrite doesn't hold up—the groundwork was already there.
