🌸 Pink Rain Lily isn’t just a pretty flower—it holds promise for Alzheimer’s treatment! @CSIR_IHBT has reported boosting its lab propagation using meta-topolin (mT), enhancing both growth & galantamine production.
A step toward large-scale cultivation of this medicinal plant! 🌿🧠

I am excited to share our latest article in the Journal of Plant Growth Regulation, which highlights the dual role of meta-topolin (mT) for the in vitro propagation and phytochemical elicitation in Zephyranthes grandiflora (rain lily). https://t.co/HJxs80K41G
It was a wonderful discussion on floricultural crops with M/s Rise N Shine, Pune (a leading company in plant tissue culture) for the development of the Floriculture sector in #northindia. Got a chance to interact with Mr. David, a gerbera expert from #Israel@CSIR_IHBT@CSIR_IND
VITAMIN D TOMATOES - Researchers used gene editing to turn off a specific molecule in the plant’s genome which increased provitamin D3 in both the fruit and leaves of tomato plants. It was then converted to vitamin D3 through exposure to UVB light. ☀🍅

#euroblight today’s news is timely to our discussion ‘The UK government is to relax the regulation of gene-edited crops to enable commercial growing in England.’https://t.co/nSphYnZzb1
PhD students tend to choose a lab based on the topic, but a creative and supportive environment is more important. If everyone in the lab is miserable, you will probably be miserable there too; and if they are happy and thriving, you'll also likely feel good about yourself there.
