Jon Burrows said he has contacted the PSNI about this afternoon's rally on the Garvaghy Road.
He said the attendance of the Sinn Fein leadership "has all the hallmarks of electioneering".
Mr Burrows said: “The scenes at the Garvaghy Road, with Michelle O'Neill and Sinn Fein bringing thousands onto the streets for another unlawful protest, represent a serious failure of political leadership.
It was a carnival of law-breaking and triumphalism.
This is reckless, provocative and deeply irresponsible. It inflames tensions, is a deliberate provocation to other communities, and treats the rule of law with contempt.
"It has all the hallmarks of electioneering, with everyone else left to bear the consequences."

🚨NEW Police warn Garvaghy Road blockade ‘still illegal’ after thousands attend solidarity rally
Police have warned that anyone blocking the Garvaghy Road will be treated as taking part in an “unnotified and therefore illegal protest” following a major solidarity rally in Portadown earlier today (Saturday).
Assistant Chief Constable Anthony McNally said officers were aware of “a large gathering of people on the Garvaghy Road” and confirmed it had caused “significant traffic disruption”.
The Portadown Orange District LOL 1 , led by District Master Nigel Dawson and Deputy District Master Alistair Power, continue to maintain a presence outside Drumcree Parish Church. Meanwhile, a short distance away on the Garavghy ROad thousands have gathered for a rally in support of the residents.
