O, Lord, on one hand I wish to call to you to bring wraith and justice down upon those who seek evil upon the Earth. Yet on the other hand, I am tempted by humility. For if we all got what we deserve, the Earth would be a ghost planet. I pray for your mercy on us Lord. Yet I pray for justice for those who are victims of the evil ones. Let not their cry’s and blood go unnoticed or forgotten. Tear down the empire of evil and let Christendom pick up the pieces to rebuild anew, one that will truly serve you Lord. A place truly dedicated to justice. May the whole Earth tremble and know that you are God, and may we find peace and mercy in your faithfulness.
#justice
Truth is preferable to peace. When Peace is built at the cost of Truth and Justice, you have built peace on a lie, and there is no lasting peace in lies.
The Church has taught for centuries that being outraged by a wrong done to you while turning around and committing the same wrong against others is not merely equivalent, it's judged more severely because it adds self-righteousness, deception, and a hardened heart. If you return evil for the evil done to you, you have the worse sin.
After much reflection, prayer and research, I have to a conclusion that even in the "just talking" phase, modern dating's habit of engaging multiple people simultaneously often dehumanizes them. Psychology studies proves this. Objectification theory shows we reduce people to emotional tools for validation, ego regulation, or fear-soothing. Treating people as interchangeable options rather than humans with dignity. Studies on dating apps link this to higher anxiety, ghosting, and eroded empathy. Often the heavier the app use, the more dehumanizing the person becomes to others.
This behavior is extremely dangerous. It feeds narcissism and transactional relating, confusing and hurting the heart and leading to cultural downgrade. As Christians, we must confess and understand that it violates the imago Dei and the command to love neighbor as self. Historic Christianity calls us to clarity, intentionality, and covenantal fidelity, not hedging individuals like gambling tools. From the beginning, God joined male and female as one flesh, our pursuits should reflect Christ's faithful headship, not mere pragmatic self-preservation.
In short, even in the "just talking" phase. If you are "just talking" to more than one person at a time. That IS immoral. You have reduced them to an option rather than a truly humanized person with real potential interest of love and trust. This type of behavior is immoral, unacceptable and should never be tolerated in any sense.
We often hear people say "Well we are just talking so it's not technically cheating." This is the type of lie we tell ourselves to justify our dehumanization of others so we feel less guilty in hurting them. But this is not a loving act. To truly love someone is to endure suffering for their sake. To share in their burdens, not self soothing justification to continue toxic behaviors.
Shame is the weapon of the enemy. He will weld it to shackle you to the past. Do not give in to resentment, shame or angry cycles. Remember the Word of the Lord. "And whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.”
The peace of the Lord be with you and keep you. Let his ever loving forgiveness and love humble you and remind you, that you too are a wretched sinner and a hypocrite. Love your enemies as God as loved you. If you only love those who love you, what credit is that to you, for even sinners love those who love them. God has loved you despite your unfaithfulness and has given his life for your sake. Remember this loving act so that you may forgive others and be forgiven.
Be not shackled to shame. It is the weapon of the enemy. He will use it as shackles and drag you through a never ending spiral that will only allow you to look to yourself for direction. Christ has broken those chains, let that shame turn to hope. Remorse over your sin and repent, do not linger in it nor look to the shame of it. For no man can boast and all have fallen short in the eyes of God. You are loved because the Lord who made you is love and merciful, not because you deserve it. May the peace of the Lord be with you on this day and all days to come.
We sometimes forget that God is glorified in the ordinary. A Faithful spouse choosing to love their other is glorifying to God because he has made them one flesh and is pleased in their daily sacrifice and endurance for one another. Even in their imperfections, God is glorified in their love for each other despite their imperfections. This mirrors how Christ is glorified in his love of us despite our sins and is a model for how we should love each other. Christ is love and even in all his perfections he has chosen to love us. Let us remember this in our own love for each other.
As much as I really hate to admit this. I unknowingly acted narcissistic to those I love most. I had to hit rock bottom to see the harm I done and how much they matter to me. The science says that narcissist have to hit rock bottom to see the error of their ways... I have definitely seen mine. I believe this ties to my prayers weeks ago to have a Book of Job moment because I knew something was wrong but I had no idea how bad it truly was. Words cannot describe how bad or embarrassed I feel for being that way. I am grateful God answered my prayers and opened my eyes. Despite everything I will hold fast to the Lord and his ways in faithfulness. I will remain loyal through all things and stop letting shame and guilt shackle me down in anger and despair. God has predestined all, so even at my lowest I will rest in the Lord and know this all has a purpose.
One thing I think we all know subconsciously but never acknowledge consciously, is that to love is to suffer for the sake of that something or someone. True love endures suffering and is tested against many trials. Christ demonstrated this in his sacrifice on the cross. Christ is love. If we truly love God, our spouse, family, friends, our neighbors, then we must be able to endure for their sake. Love is not selfish and self seeking. Many of us lose ourselves in the moments of complacency. But we must make daily efforts to ensure that those around us know we love them truly.
When the Bible describes our relationship to Christ, it describes it as a marriage. The Church is the bride of Christ. Therefore, to understand both our relationship with God and the nature of Christian marriage, we must carefully consider what Christ Himself has said and done on these things.
Two key passages here. First, Matthew 19:3-9. Here Jesus reaches back to Genesis and declares that Moses permitted divorce only because of the hardness of our hearts, but “from the beginning it was not so.” In the beginning, God made them male and female and said, “Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.” Then Jesus concludes: “What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate.”
The first important truth here is that marriage is fundamentally an act of God, not merely of man. It is God who joins a husband and wife into one flesh. This is why even pagan marriages are recognized as valid covenants. Later, in verses 10-12, the disciples react in shock: “If such is the case of a man with his wife, it is better not to marry.” Jesus does not soften the standard. He doesn't say "Oh, no guys that's not what I mean. He acknowledges the strong demanding commitment of marriage and calls those who can receive this teaching to accept it.
Second, 1 Corinthians 7:10-11. Paul, giving the Lord’s direct command, tells married couples not to separate. But if separation does happen, the wife should “remain unmarried or else be reconciled to her husband,” and the husband should not divorce his wife.
To be clear, I am not claiming it is always sinful to remarry after a divorce that for truly justified biblical reasons. However, the primary goal for Christians should always be repentance and the restoration of the original marriage, even if it takes months or years. This is the consistent biblical teaching and the historic consensus of the Church.
This truth gives us profound insight into the relationship between Christ and His Church. Christ is the faithful head who remains committed to His bride even when she is unfaithful. He never divorces us. Though He would be perfectly justified in condemning us to hell, He pursues us with mercy and calls us to repentance and restoration. In the same way, we should view our marriages as sacred covenants joined by God, which should not be broken. Even when separation is justified, the heart of the Lord is always restoration where repentance makes it possible.
As humans we offend think of ways to change or ensure a future. But as Christians we must remember that God has already predetermined the future. Nothing goes untouched or unseen. As Christians our job isn’t to change the future, God has decided it. Our role is to obey and act.
That’s why the prayer says give us our “daily” bread. The future has its own problems. Trust God with the future. Nothing is past or future to him. Everything is present for the eternal God.
Most of my adult life I have been like David in his worst moments but wanting to be the man after God's own heart. But I also wanted to be so much like Hosea. Marriage is not about my happiness, it is about the well being of my spouse. This is easier said than done. But in my lowest moments, I find God's renewal. I find a heart that begins to trust even in my most broken state. I find years of suffering and struggling to be the man I wanted to be finally coming to fruit. It did not come at my greatest moments of happiness. It came at my lowest. God shapes us at our low to humble us and renew us and shape our faith. Iron Sharpens Iron. Today I feel a deep desire to trust in the Great Comforter, for he has predestined all things and created all things. I am finite made from the dust of the earth and will return. As much as I fear the future, I cannot let that break me down and excuse my sinful decisions. No amount of pragmaticism will let sin win. I pray I can find peace in the Creator's will and grow from here. I spent these past few weeks praying to be renewed as Job, because I knew I needed humility. This prayer always gave me much fear to say because I know what it means to pray for such an experience of transformation. But Honestly I needed it. I hope this is the beginning of me becoming a better man and letting go of all the shame and guilt that shackled me. That shame and guilt only lead to more suffering and it allowed me to hurt those I love most. The devil is the prosecutor in the courtroom looking to remind you of all you did wrong. But Christ offers repentance. The devil will say God is tired at you, mad at you, done with you. But this is false. Christ invites all to repentance. Do not let shame. guilt, pride shackle you to your sin. That will eat you up and destroy you. That shame will also cause you to hurt others. And that creates a snowball effect. Trust in Christ. All things are possible in Christ's Love and forgiveness. We are called to be merciful as God is merciful. Be merciful to all you can, for you too are a hypocrite and a sinner. Love your neighbor, for to hate, and holding onto resentment, will keep the forgiveness of God from you. Encourage each other to forgive as Christ would forgive. Be Christ like in your love of others so that you too may be saved.
We are all hypocrites. Any who says they are not one have proven themselves to be one. The church is not a place of the perfect. But of the sick who know they need a healer. We are all infected with sin.
