BREAKING: Democratic Ohio gubernatorial candidate Dr. Amy Acton was attacked by an armed individual who lunged at her during a campaign event at the Canfield Fair near Youngstown.

Multiple people were injured in the attack. Acton’s campaign says law enforcement responded swiftly and decisively. It was not immediately clear whether Acton herself was injured.

“This kind of violence has no place in Ohio,” her campaign said.
