A note from Mark Twain about the Jewish people:
โIf the statistics are right, the Jews constitute but one percent of the human race. It suggests a nebulous dim puff of star dust lost in the blaze of the Milky Way. Properly the Jew ought hardly to be heard of, but he is heard of, has always been heard of. He is as prominent on the planet as any other people, and his commercial importance is extravagantly out of proportion to the smallness of his bulk. His contributions to the worldโs list of great names in literature, science, art, music, finance, medicine, and abstruse learning are also away out of proportion to the weakness of his numbers. He has made a marvelous fight in the world, in all the ages; and has done it with his hands tied behind him. He could be vain of himself, and be excused for it.
The Egyptian, the Babylonian, and the Persian rose, filled the planet with sound and splendor, then faded to dream-stuff and passed away; the Greek and the Roman followed, and made a vast noise, and they are gone; other peoples have sprung up and held their torch high for a time, but it burned out, and they sit in twilight now, or have vanished. The Jew saw them all, beat them all, and is now what he always was, exhibiting no decadence, no infirmities of age, no weakening of his parts, no slowing of his energies, no dulling of his alert and aggressive mind.
All things are mortal but the Jew; all other forces pass, but he remains. What is the secret of his immortality?โ

@RabbiWolpe Some of the comments, on a day such as today.. my God...totally inappropriate and anti-Semitic - just respectfully allow their families and our entire Jewish community to mourn their losses! I'm stunned by this news, bt not surprised. Thnk you, @RabbiWolpe , for posting the news.
Not watching the debate. Fuss at me if you want to but at this point I find all of it a whole lot of hot air and quite frankly boring. I already know who I'm voting for. No, I'm not telling you. I think I'll go find something to read instead...
@DougJones Do you support the reestablishment of the Disability Caucus in the Alabama Democratic Party? It was the only one not reestablished, and we need it! We need your support Mr Jones! You have stated in the past your support for disabled people, and now we greatly need your support!

@RabbiWolpe This doesn't really relate to your post, I just wanted to say the Frontline documentary on PBS tonight about the student protests was excellent, and I thought you did a very good job as well. I never knew about "from the river to the sea" in Arabic - makes it even more sinister.
@EnslerPhillip Phil, may his memory be a blessing to all those who knew him and loved him. I never met him, but I am lucky enough to be able to see him through your behavior. I'm sure he is still very proud!
@RabbiWolpe Thanks for posting this! My uncle Billy, who my dad always said was his favorite little brother, died while serving in the Korean war. He was 19 years old. I never got to meet him, but he should still be remembered, like all those who died while serving the country. #MemorialDay
Today I memorialize my uncle William " Billy " Madden, who died during the Korean War. He was 19 years old. My father always said that Billy was his favorite little brother. Sadly, I never got to meet him. #HappyMemorialDay to everyone and especially to my Uncle Billy!
@RabbiWolpe Looking forward to hearing your sermons again, even if they are only occasional. Safe travels, lots of fun, good food, and peaceful rest. Thanks again for teaching us while you taught your students!
@LisaBrewer55037@RabbiWolpe My criticism was of the inflammatory & gaslighting language in the article. Do you think Oct 7th never happened? Are you that deluded? Why did Israel fight back? ISRAEL HAS THE INALIENABLE RIGHT TO DEFEND ITSELF & ITS CITIZENS. In no way & under no definition is that "genocide."
