in therapy I realised that I go above and beyond for the people in my life is because I subconsciously want them to do the same. I started going above and beyond for myself instead and I stopped feeling dissatisfied. The most anyone can get out of me is same level reciprocity.
I realized I really can't be at peace w anyone that invalidates my feelings. I don't want anyone to kiss my ass to satisfy my ego but if we can't mutually respect each other's feelings even when we don't understand them & apologize for offending the other, we won't thrive.
Highly empathetic people with anxious attachment can tolerate way too much because they're really good at understanding people. They understand why they pulled away. They understand why they're inconsistent. They understand why they're scared.
They understand everything except why they keep accepting it. Understanding someone's behavior doesn't mean you have to accept it.
I finally understand what Machiavelli meant when he said, "Never play fair in a game where others cheat." It doesn't mean become evil. It means stop being naive. Stop bringing honesty to people who study manipulation, stop giving access to people who weaponize closeness, and stop expecting clean hands from people who already showed you they'll throw dirt. Sometimes wisdom is not revenge. Sometimes wisdom is learning the rules of the room before the room uses your goodness against you.
You could say your partner is allowed to fuck anyone they want as much as they want as long as they don’t do it on a Tuesday and they would still do it on a Tuesday just cause it would fuck with you. That is the base principle of cheating and you won’t convince me otherwise
Normalise giving up on people when their actions keep showing you who they are. Stop romanticising their potential, excusing their behaviour or holding onto the version of them you wish they’d become. Accept people as they are and give yourself permission to walk away when who they are no longer aligns with what you deserve.
It really sucks when ppl don’t realize how much I sacrifice to accommodate them. How much I give up, change, or inconvenience myself to make things easier for them.
all roads lead you back to yourself, to the standards you ignored, the boundaries you softened, the intuition you doubted. life keeps repeating lessons until you finally listen and become a better version of yourself.
I think my love with being alone stems from me knowing if I'm alone then no one is around to disturb me or alter any of my emotions. Everything is up to me. no one is there to misunderstand me, judge me, etc.
It's peaceful. A peace I don't feel often with other humans
No one talks about the heavy regret that comes with being vulnerable with someone you genuinely believed was a safe place, only to realise they weren’t. It’s not just embarrassment. It’s the feeling of wishing you could take every word back, wishing you had protected the parts of yourself you trusted them with. Sometimes the hardest part isn’t that they hurt you, it’s realising you were wrong about who you could safely be yourself with.
No one wants to hear this but sometimes it’s your fault. Your life isn’t good and it’s your fault. You made bad decisions/ choices and sadly, these are the consequences of your actions.
in order to become a better person, you must first realize how horrible you really are. not in the dramatic sense, but in the quiet ways you sabotage yourself, repeat unhealthy patterns, hurt people who care about you, or tolerate what wounds you. you cannot grow if you keep pretending you’re innocent in the story you’ve created.
I'm a type C person I can wake up at 5am. I can wake up at 1pm.
I can work for 15 hrs straight, or I can do nothing for 3 days. text back in 0.5 secs or 2 weeks later. love being alone but hate feeling lonely. overthink everything, then end up saying it is what it is.
