I strongly believe that, like previous incidents, this lady doctor will also not receive the attention of our welfare organizations and journalists. It seems that female doctors are not even considered “women” by them; otherwise, they would speak up about the attacks on lady doctors and highlight these issues as well.

It is also disappointing that some women’s organizations remain very vocal when an actress or a public figure is attacked or harassed, yet stay silent when female doctors face harassment, violence, or even lose their lives while serving in hospitals.

Unfortunately, this shameful state of affairs has persisted for decades because those in power have chosen to look the other way.

Governments have failed to provide even basic security to doctors. In many hospitals, patients and their attendants can verbally abuse, threaten, or even physically assault physicians without fear of consequences. There is little deterrence, little accountability, and even less protection.

Meanwhile, politicians, judges, and bureaucrats move with heavy police protocols funded by taxpayers. Yet the very people who stand at the frontline of life and death, doctors who work 80 to 90 hours a week under exhausting conditions, often for modest salaries, receive no structured security at all.

These are the professionals treating the poorest and most vulnerable citizens. These are the individuals who carry the emotional burden of suffering, emergencies, and loss every single day.

A nation that shields power but leaves its healers exposed has its priorities dangerously misplaced.

This injustice cannot be normalized. It must be confronted and corrected.

I condemn this barbaric act in the strongest possible terms.

If reports are true that she was murdered simply for asking a male attendant to step outside while she examined a female patient, then this is not just a crime, it is a complete collapse of respect for medical professionals and basic human decency.

Doctors across Pakistan continue to work under constant threat, with little to no security inside hospitals. How long will healers remain unprotected while serving the public?

The KPK government must ensure swift, transparent justice and make an example of the perpetrator. But beyond one arrest, we need systemic change.

Hospitals across the country must implement strict security protocols, controlled entry systems, trained guards, and zero tolerance policies for violence against healthcare workers.

Protecting doctors is not optional. It is essential for the survival of any functioning healthcare system.
