Here’s the dark truth about self improvement that no one talks about:
You may become the best version of yourself - but as soon as you learn about what you ‘should’ be doing…
For example:
- I should be reading
- I should be exercising
- I should be getting up early
It creates this mental checklist.
That if we don’t do everything on that list then we use it as ammunition.
That you use against yourself.
The truth is self-improvement alone is not going to satisfy you.
Self- improvement is only part of the journey.
The other half which is vital for growth is self acceptance.
Accepting where you are right now
Accepting every small and big win
Learning from your losses and enjoying the now.
The best things in life happen on the side quests.
-- Pick one goal and hustle to death to achieve it.
-- Cut out all distractions and focus only on one thing.
As popular as that is right now, the most meaningful things in life are found on the detours you take.
I have a friend who's a great programmer but also spent a lot of time learning how to play the guitar. It eventually landed him a high paying job because the CEO was also a guitar player.
A more popular example being Steven Jobs and the calligraphy class he took which helped him design the fonts used in Macintosh.
The side quests that initially look like distractions end up being the edge you need.
"I am an introvert."
"I am bad with numbers."
"Maybe it worked for them but I'm different."
Whenever your reason for not doing something is identity-based, your alarm bells you should be going off.
You don't need to attach any labels to yourself.
You can choose to be free and walk your own way.
But you can't regret what comes out of it - whether glorious or tragic.
That's the price you pay for freedom.
@ZachRock17 I've reduced the time I spend on X. Channelling everything I have towards YouTube.
Better scripts, better speaking, better editing, better videos.
Quality over quantity this year.
I’ve interviewed 21 CEO’s
Closed 82 clients
And started 3 businesses
But when I first started I was completely lost.
Now I'm revealing the secrets in my "Entrepreneur Toolkit"
