My only critique so far outside of preference is that I think the two-button scheme really holds some games back. Idk if I'd say it should be changed but it is a shame!

UFO50 (so far) feels very straightforward as an art object but it definitely has a lot of little decisions that contribute to some interesting cruft. It's funny the way we all collectively pretend that NES games felt really snappy, technical, and responsive LOL.

it's more like it's drawing inspiration from many eras in kind of a haphazard way, you get anachronistic modern ideas mixed with retro structure, difficulty, secrets, etc. often within the same game
