Twice now I’ve heard @MattHancock suggest it’s no wonder there’s a shortage of Covid tests because they are being provided for free. May I take this opportunity to remind the disingenuous little runt that every single test has been bought & paid for by us, the taxpayer.

There is ample evidence that at primary level, kids are not big transmitters of virus. But teens are. Plus teens hang around in groups, possible transferring it back to their parents/grandparents (who mind them)

This is the right move. The evidence in support of wearing face coverings in enclosed public spaces is clear — we need them to be mandatory in England too.
Londoners, please wear a face covering when you come into close contact with others. It'll help keep us all safe.
London partners have today protected statues and monuments including the Cenotaph, Churchill, Mandela and Gandhi - to stop any risk of vandalism or defacing. This sensible precaution has been taken ahead of protests for years - including by @BorisJohnson when he was Mayor.
Coronavirus is a reminder that the welfare state is not “a burden” but a form of collective insurance against life’s hazards: ill-health, disability, the death of a partner, unemployment. It should never have been so weakened by cuts.
