Across India,Aided Degree College teachers are recognised as Assistant Professors under UGC Regulations 2018 with ₹6000 AGP.
But in Odisha, SSB-recruited lecturers are still denied UGC designation, parity & forced into 4600 GP despite identical qualifications & workloads.

How 4200 SSB Lecturers are deprived by Higher Education Department government of Odisha since 2016. Violation of UGC Guidelines. They want justice. This is matter of Social Status, self respect,Dignity of Ssb recruited Lecturers of Odisha. It's an open appeal to all give justice
For the last 6 months, salaries are delayed in every month to more than 20000 Lecturers in Odisha by the @DHE_Odisha
Earlier: 3-month allotment → On time Salary ✅
Now: Monthly allotment → monthly delay ❌
We question WHY?
Why is this happening against lecturers in Odisha?
Government of Odisha has taken a welcome step by regularising Junior Teachers and granting them a justified GP.
But, how long will SSB Lecturers continue to be exploited in Odisha?
When justice is delivered to one section,
why is another left behind?
#SSBlecturers#Odisha
1.5 YEARS. ZERO ACTION.
2016 SSB Lecturers in Odisha are still waiting for rightful promotion to Senior Lecturer (Group-A).
This is not a delay of 1.5 years— this is denial of justice.
How long should careers suffer for administrative inaction?
#JusticeForSSBLecturers#SSB
2016 SSB lecturers have completed 8+ years of service, yet promotion to Senior Lecturer (Group-A) under the Odisha Non-Govt. Aided College Lecturers’ Placement Rules, 2014 is still pending. Over 1.5 years of delay is unacceptable and administrative negligence by @DHE_Odisha.
How can the same post have different Grade Pay?
Junior Clerk (Govt College)-1900 GP
Junior Clerk (Aided College)–1900 GP
For clerical posts, GP is equal.
For TGTs and PGTs, GP is equal.
But for Lecturers, Govt Colleges get 5400 GP while Aided Colleges get 4600 GP.
Why?
Is Odisha poorer than West Bengal? If not, why are aided college lecturers in Odisha given 4600 GP and called “Lecturers,” while WB grants 6000 AGP and designated them “Assistant Professors” as per UGC norms?
When other states follow UGC standards, why is Odisha the exception?
"Humble prayer to the Honorable High Court of Odisha and the Supreme Court of India, we seek justice for the 4200 SSB lecturers of Odisha. The Govt. of Odisha is implementing a dual policy for the same department from 2016. How is this shameful system being allowed to continue.
In Odisha, 4200 SSB Lecturers have been deprived since 2016. This disparity, continued by the previous BJD government, is urged to be addressed by national leaders, as requested by SSB lecturers, to bring justice. Some bureaucrats are allegedly perpetuating this issue knowingly.
Just watch the advertisement of west bengal, govt added college, for the post of asst professor according to UGC guidelines,no derogatory word as nongovt, lecturer for degree colleges,so friends “West Bengal Chalo”
@PaniSatyap79045 But in Odisha, nothing is there... Odisha should learn from West Bengal. That's why most of my friends from West Bengal are saying that their dream is to become a teacher/ Assistant professor.
New BJP govt Should listen to SSB Lecturers. They want justice, Self respect, Dignity & Social Status in the society, They provide comparative statement of SSB & OPSC lecturers how they have been deprived since 2016. They want justice from Double-Engine BJP Government.🙏🙏🙏
OSLA had a productive discussion with the High-Level Expert Committee. We placed the long-pending concerns of SSB Lecturers of Odisha before the Committee. We are hopeful that our issues would be examined with a commitment to justice in the larger interest of higher education.
