If the press attacked Carney over his failures with as much vigor as they do with Pierre, Carney would be sitting with an approval level as low as Trudeau had in 2015. The press is suppose to give balanced reporting. It seems all media sources have failed.

I was going to make a post about the latest @niknanos poll claiming Canadians overwhelmingly prefer Mark Carney over Pierre Poilievre.

Something along the lines of...

"Canadians are choosing between groceries and the mortgage, yet we're told the biggest story is another poll insisting Mark Carney is everyone's favourite.

Favourite where, exactly?

Every time one of these polls drops, I wonder who they're talking to. Bay Street boardrooms? University faculty lounges? Retirement communities? Because the conversations around kitchen tables, coffee shops and job sites seem to be taking place in an entirely different country.

That's become the pattern.

Sell the perception.
Ignore the performance.
Repeat until the headline becomes the story.

Which raises a fascinating question.

How does a pollster claim to measure what Canadians think while blocking Canadians from responding to him?

Stranger still, Nanos still sends me polling invitations and pays me five bucks every time I complete one.🤣🤣🤣

So apparently I'm representative enough to help produce the headlines, just not representative enough to reply to them.

Someone I used to work with had two young daughters - both allergic to peanuts. I told her that nut allergies were often caused by vaccines as some have peanut oil as one of the ingredients and that by injecting it into children’s bodies it can cause a longterm reaction.

She looked at me as if I’d just sprouted an extra head and quickly changed the subject.

Most people think it’s normal for kids to have allergies. They believe it’s genetic. Or they just don’t think about it.

Anyhow, while I was dicking around with numbers, I realised CPP is a huge scam …

If you earned average $90,000 a year, paid into CPP from 18 to 67, and you include both the employee and employer contributions, those contributions invested at an average 6% annual return could grow to roughly $2.5 million by retirement.

Instead, the maximum CPP retirement pension is currently about $18,000 a year.

Live to 80, and you’d receive roughly $300,000 in retirement payments.

I know CPP is a social insurance program, not a personal investment account, and it also funds disability, survivor, and lifetime benefits. But purely on the math, it’s understandable why some you could question whether the return on your contributions is good value.

Every sheep in the UK has to be shorn for its welfare. There is no choice. Yet the heartbreaking reality is that it often costs more to shear a sheep than the fleece is worth.
So tonnes of beautiful British wool are treated as waste, burned, buried or composted, while we fill our wardrobes with synthetic fibres made from oil that shed microplastics into our rivers and seas.
It feels as though somewhere along the way we’ve forgotten the value of the things nature gives us so generously.
British wool is warm, breathable, biodegradable, renewable and grown every single year by animals already grazing our countryside. It deserves to be treasured, not thrown away.
Perhaps the answer isn’t to produce more. Perhaps it’s to remember what we’ve always had, and start valuing natural materials, skilled craftsmanship and the people who produce them once again.

Please forgive my helmet in this footage, I used a fast-moving off-road vehicle in order to reach the fire quickly, which was upwind and heading toward my land. Cal Fire and affiliated agencies immediately deployed substantial resources to fight the blaze, I am again indebted to Cal Fire's above and beyond response. In spite of the "Brook Fire" being in very difficult terrain with extreme overall fire conditions, Cal Fire was able to stop the advance of the flames.
