Back on the road for a thank you visitation across the 6 Area Councils. Service to the people will not stop just because people were not given the opportunity to vote me in the primaries.
My first stop was Kwali, and my message to all is simply. Let's focus on the Obi/Kwankwaso ticket!
3rd Area Council Done for today!
Thank you visit to Gwagwalada completes today’s appreciation tour. Tomorrow we take on the remaining Area Councils!

On the Record: NDC Primaries... A Better Abuja Is Inevitable | #AishaforSenate2031
As the dust settles on the NDC Primaries, I want to set the record straight: I did not quit, I did not drop out of the race. I stayed to the end. I also do not intend to litigate a process that was never truly allowed to happen, I share my truth because the people of Abuja deserve the truth.
Why I Ran
I came into politics from a deep conviction: that to drive the transformation we hope to see, it is not enough to complain from the outside. You must step into the ring with your convictions and fight to get into the positions where decisions are made with the weight of the law.
I understood what I was getting into. I knew that the quality of our politics has not yet risen to the occasion, that values-based candidates do not easily emerge by merit in a system built to resist them. But I made a decision going in: I would not compromise my values. I would stand for what is right. I did not leave advocacy to go into politics. I took advocacy into politics.
The Campaign We Built
I ran a campaign I am truly proud of. Our ground game was on point. We had grassroots credibility, the kind you don't manufacture in a backroom. The SAY-Nation volunteer network was formidable, so formidable that the process had to be taken out of the open and resolved through a clandestine affirmation behind closed doors.
Street by street, ward by ward, conversation by conversation, we built something real. To every volunteer who knocked on doors, every supporter who argued our case in market squares and motor parks, every young person who believed that this time could be different: I see you, and I am deeply grateful. You showed Abuja what a people-powered campaign looks like.
The Process That Wasn't
What was billed as a primary was, in truth, a predetermined outcome dressed in procedural formalities. The primaries were repeatedly postponed. Venues were changed at the last minute. Guidelines of the party were not followed. Delegate based process was introduced to be conducted at a central location instead of the direct primaries to be conducted at Local Government headquarters. When the moment came, the contest was not decided by delegates in the open; it was affirmed in a closed room, away from the people whose voices it was supposed to reflect. The party will indeed go on to release statements upon statements about the free and fair nature of the Abuja FCT primaries. They are entitled to their voice, but the facts that transpired when litigated by conscience and the guidelines of the electoral act do not reflect justice and fairness.
Why I Didn't Escalate
I ran to win. But when the process was subverted, I made a choice: I would not exhaust myself in a grievance process designed to wear people down. I chose instead to extract every lesson this experience had to offer.
I now understand the architecture of the system in ways no textbook, no punditry, no amount of outside observation could ever teach. That knowledge is worth more than any petition I could have filed. I leave this process with something far more valuable than a ticket; I leave with clarity.
It is important to note that this account reflects my experience in the Abuja FCT Senatorial race. It does not speak to what transpired in other states, nor do I claim to understand the specifics of those contests. Every state had its own dynamics, and I will not generalise from my experience.
On the NDC
For now, despite its shortcomings, the NDC remains the only party that has given the better Presidential candidate in the 2027 electoral cycle a platform to run. To everyone within the party working to make this possible, I am grateful. Transformation does not come from outside alone. It must also be fought for within.
A Better Abuja Is Inevitable
This is not the end. What we built, the network, the credibility, the grassroots trust, cannot be taken away in a backroom.

Abuja does not have a State of Assembly and gets the shorthand when it comes to legislation specifically for the Abuja people. There is a need for #AbujaBillsForAbujaPeople
If I clinch the NDC TICKET to run for the FCT Senate seat and get voted by the good people of FCT Abuja, some of the bills I will be proposing include the following:
1)Abuja Residents Security Bill
2)Abuja Residents Empowerment Bill
3)Abuja Infrastructure Bill
4)Free Maternal Health Bill
5)Indigenous Rights and Land Protection Bill
6)FCTA Accountability Bill
7)Abuja Education Bill
ONE: Nobody should fear for their life in Abuja.
Abuja Residents Security Bill—community policing in every neighborhood. Solar streetlights in high-risk areas. Quick-response emergency teams. You should not be afraid to come home at night.
TWO: Your sweat must pay. Your hustle must count.
Abuja Residents Empowerment Bill—mandating quotas for youth- and women-led businesses in government contracts. The Rent Control component of my Bill will protect you from unjust rent hikes. Double taxation elimination, Skills Empowerment spending that empowers Abuja residents with real skills. Access to Capital mandates that ensure a portion of Abuja taxes is used to provide microloans to support businesses.
THREE: Water. Roads. Light. Healthcare. These are not favors—they're your rights.
Abuja Infrastructure Bill clean water for residents through solar-powered boreholes.
Roads in Abaji, Kwali, Bwari, Gwagwalada, Kuje and the neglected parts of AMAC - FIXED.
Primary Healthcare Centres are upgraded with an adequate number of doctors, medical supplies, and reliable emergency services.
Schools renovated.
This is not optional. This is your right.
FOUR: Pregnancy is not a death sentence.
Free Maternal Health Bill,
Comprehensive care for every pregnant woman, regardless of how much money you have.
Mobile clinics reaching rural communities.
Maternal waiting homes near health centers. 100,000+ women served.
No woman should die giving life.
FIVE: They can't just take your land and bulldoze your house.
Indigenous Rights and Land Protection Bill—
Full compensation for ancestral lands.
Land Rights Tribunal.
No demolitions without proper notice and fair payment.
Affordable housing for middle- and low-income families.
Your dignity is not negotiable.
SIX: You will see where every kobo goes.
FCTA Accountability Bill—
every budget, every contract, every demolition order.
You will SEE it.
TRACK it.
QUESTION it.
The minister will be mandated by law to engage Abuja residents before drafting budgets or spending.
Your needs must be captured in the budget.
FCTA will no longer see bloated and inflated contracts used to enrich corrupt politicians.
When everything is in the open, the thieves have nowhere to hide.
SEVEN: I will fight for an Abuja Education Bill — No Child Left Behind.
EVERY CHILD DESERVES QUALITY EDUCATION. NOT JUST THE ONES WHOSE PARENTS CAN AFFORD PRIVATE SCHOOL.
Public schools renovated with proper classrooms, libraries, science labs, and sports facilities. Scholarships covering tuition, WAEC, NECO, and JAMB fees for indigent students. Teacher recruitment and training programs. Competitive salaries to attract and retain quality teachers.
ICT training centers in all the area councils for training youth in digital and coding skills. Universal access to quality primary and secondary education across all six area councils.
A BETTER ABUJA MEANS EDUCATION IS NOT A PRIVILEGE FOR THE RICH. IT'S THE FOUNDATION OF EVERY CHILD'S FUTURE. AND I WILL FIGHT TO GUARANTEE IT FOR EVERY ABUJA CHILD.
My sister @AishaYesufu is running for Senate. Without a doubt she brings a leadership that the FCT is lacking. May the stars and the citizens align for her.
Aisha Yesufu for FCT Senate 2027!!!!
#NDCFCTSenatorialCandidate
When I was little, I’ll see other kids hawking and I’ll tell my parents I want to hawk too but they’ll refuse and I’ll cry myself to sleep .
I’m so grateful for adulthood because nobody will stop me from hawking anymore. I’ll carry Aisha Yesufu on my head! I’ll tell both the people who care to know and the people who don’t that she’s the best senate candidate for FCT!!!
I am for @AishaYesufu
The next couple of days will define the future of this nation. This deeper understanding is why I resigned from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to join the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) as I follow the leadership of, HE Peter Obi, who today embodies the hope and aspiration of a Nigeria that works.
When I give my word, I keep it. My decision to support HE Peter Obi first led me to the ADC. To continue to honour the promise I am joining the NDC.
This time I am joining the NDC not just as a member but as one running for the FCT Senatorial seat.
I have tidied up all my obligations to the ADC, ensuring a clean transition. I was fortunate to work with great and amazing people whose goal was a better country. I am grateful for the opportunity to have served as sub‑committee chair, deputy committee chair, and secretary at various levels.
The experience has been invaluable, and I thank everyone for their support and cooperation.

FEAR IS THAT YOU?
Since 31st of December 2025 when His Excellency MrPeter Obi formally declared and carried his allies, supporters, and well-wishers into the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Mr Tinubu’s men have been in disarray. They have been releasing epistle after epistle. They suddenly became emergency lovers of the Obidient movement and strategists for Mr Peter Obi. It is ‘friendly’ advise upon ‘friendly’ advise! Analysis upon Analysis!!!!! It is has been laughable and pitiable at the same time.
The panic mode as much as they try to hide it, is so glaring. Even those Tinubu’s men who have not spoken for months were recruited to be in the face of media and give their take on why Mr Peter Obi formally declaring for ADC is a political miscalculation. For people who have gleefully talked about and rejoiced at the decimination of the opposition, if indeed this was a political miscalculation, they would have welcomed it and not said a word. Alas, they know who their real opponent is. He won the 2023 election, and they know his chances are even better going into 2027 election.
Their actions in recent times should tell you that they know their tactics have been decimated and their worst nightmare is about to happen which is having Mr Peter Obi as the flagbearer of ADC!!! Their recent outbursts tell you that Mr Peter Obi is the person to beat. And they are petrified about it.
For the 2027 election there is one man that can inspire the kind of passion that will be revolutionary and from the action of those around Tinubu you know for sure that if a win and not participation is the goal, then Peter Obi is the man. Never have we had in Nigeria a candidate who has most capacity to do the work and also the most liked candidate with the best chances to win. It is a rare combination we must ensure we do not fritter away. They can outspend MR Peter Obi but they can never outpassion him. Mr peter Obi has the capacity to inspire passion not just in Nigeria but in Africa and that scares them all
To my fellow citizens, remember #UnitedWeCan and when next they are telling you that Peter Obi made the wrong choice, ask them a simple question, FEAR IS THAT YOU?
Regards
Aisha Yesufu
I stand before you today and I say this clearly: my voice will never be shut down
by the grace of God. I AM NOT LEAVING ADVOCACY. I AM TAKING
ADVOCACY INTO POLITICS!!!
Our National Youth Leader here spoke about ADC and the 35% affirmative action
and that he believes I will help in upholding it. I say this respectfully: that is the
minimum. ADC has done well in ensuring the 35%. We can do 50% and beyond.
We must do better. What we need are people who will stand, sacrifice, and fight
for this country.
And let me send this message loud and clear: MR. PETER OBI WILL NOT WALK
ALONE. Even if there is only one person left. I, Aisha Yesufu, will be that person!
My word is my bond. I am here. I am following. I am working. And I will continue
until we get the Nigeria that is POssible.
It is time for Nigeria to experience good governance, accountability, and
transparency. And I know ADC can deliver that, not because it is ADC but
because you and other well meaning Nigerians who have stayed away from
politics will join and insist and ensure that they are delivered.
A D C!
ARISE!
A D & C !!
ARISE AND SHINE NIGERIA
GOD BLESS A D C
GOD BLESS THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA
#PeterObiWillNotWalkAlone
Ladies and Gentlemen,
As I sit here before you, I am afraid at this new step I am about to take. Courage,
they say, is not the absence of fear. Courage is stepping forward despite the fear.
Twelve years ago, on the day of my 40th birthday I decided that silence was no
longer going to be an option. My silence was also part of the problems that Nigeria
was grappling with. On that day I made a covenant with God that if God gives me
another 40 years, I will devote those 40 years to Nigeria. Four months later, on
the 14th of April 2014 #ChibokGirls were abducted
And on the 30th of April 2014, I came out with other well-meaning Nigerians to
march for the 276 schoolgirls that had been abducted from their school. Every
single day, we were on the streets, marching, crying, demanding justice until the
lockdown during Covid-19 in 2020 when we stopped the daily physical sit outs
and protests and continued online. Today, I see my sisters and brother who
walked that journey with me standing here and the fear has lessened but let me
be clear: it has not disappeared.
By 2018, four years into the demands for #ChibokGirls I realised something
clearly: everything leads back to politics. Politics determine who governs us.
Politics decides whether we have good governance, or we suffer and if we refuse
to participate in politics, we leave our lives at the mercy of people who were never
meant to lead in the first place.
That was when, for the first time, I joined the campaign of a presidential
candidate. I was part of the campaign team of Dr. Oby Ezekwesili who has been
my aunt and my mentor. I walked the length and breadth of Nigeria, speaking to
people with her and other well-meaning Nigerians. We had done the
#RedCardMovement before she joined the race, reminding Nigerians that they
had the choice, capacity, and power to choose from other than just two political
parties. In 2022, I was again in the campaign of a presidential candidate, Mr.Peter Obi. You all saw how it played out
On the 31st of December 2025, Mr. Peter Obi officially came with his allies,
friends, and supporters and declared for ADC. That day, I told him something
very simple and very clear: I have never been a card-carrying member of any
political party, but because my leader has called, I would become a card-carrying
member of ADC. Today, I am here to redeem that pledge. I have picked my ADC
membership card.
Let me speak to every Nigerian listening to me. We are at a moment where our
country needs us. When I told you earlier that I am afraid, I was not joking. I am
truly afraid. I love my voice. I own my voice. I say things the way I choose, when
I choose and how I choose. But I had to ask myself a hard question: Is refusing
to join a political party, refusing to be where decisions are made, refusing to
influence who become flag bearers of political parties, acceptable? Is it about me,
or is it about Nigeria?
If I truly believe in Nigeria, if I truly believe that this country should be a place
where the child of nobody can become somebody without knowing anybody, then
I must step in. I must put my hat in the ring.
Many of us are afraid that our whites will be stained. I asked myself this
question: If Allah (SWT) grants me life to 80 years, will it be said that my white
remained clean because I stayed away from the mud, or because I entered the
mud, fought through it, and my white came out spotless?
Today, I make my choice.
We have been told again and again that politics is dirty. Politics is only dirty
because good people refuse to enter it. We leave it to those who believe they
have a monopoly of dirt That dirt is the only way to play politics. That must end
now. This is the time for us to enter, one by one, and clean it up. That is how we
will build the politics that produces candidates with competence, character, and
capacity. Candidates who care. Candidates who will defend Nigeria and stand forNigeria.

What a shameful spectacle, this is!
At what point would the Nigerian-State realize that their habitual intolerance and repressive reactions to the most harmless of acts by our citizens will trigger a snowball effect sooner than later?
Imagine rough-handling two harmless citizens for merely laying memorial flowers for victims of Lekki Toll Gate 20.10.2020 tragedy!
No amount of suppression will erase that horrific history nor forget the perpetrators.
We call on the Governor of @followlasg , @jidesanwoolu to look into this assault and ensure an institutional reprimand of these overzealous security personnel as well as publicly apologize to courageously irrepressible @_yemia of @EiENigeria and her friend, Nanre Nafziger.
Dear Yemi and Nanre, thanks for standing your ground and defending the rights and dignity of #TheOfficeOfTheCitizen on behalf of all citizens of this Land.
We honor you. 🫂🫂✍🏾✍🏾✍🏾
