Happy Halloween from the City of Starbase! Wherever you're celebrating tonight, have a safe and spooky night, and watch for little ghosts and goblins on the road! 👻
September's beach cleanup, week by week→ crews started at the river mouth, moved up to the Hwy 4 outlet, then worked north from there and south from the jetty. They cleared 6.3 tons of litter and debris along the way, including 1.8 tons in one week near the river mouth and two stacks of car tires.
Thanks to everyone who packs out what they pack in, and to the crews who handle what doesn't make it home.
Introducing the City of Starbase Police Department's Cybertrucks!
As we build Starbase's first municipal police department under Chief Glenn Bennett, these trucks will be part of our fleet serving the community. It's been exciting to watch the department come together piece by piece, from the first hires to the equipment that will help our officers serve residents, workers, and visitors.
The department is taking shape, and we look forward to sharing more along the way.
Ship 42 static fires complete. The Starship preparing for Flight 15 performed a full duration, six-engine static fire, and fired a single Raptor engine to simulate a deorbit burn
In August, crews spent nine days clearing Boca Chica Beach of trash left behind by visitors and debris washed in from outside the area.
They removed 12.25 tons from the beach. The heaviest day was at the river mouth, where the Rio Grande meets the Gulf, with 3 tons hauled off in a single day.
Much of what collected there was small debris blown across the river by the wind, piling up along the bank and the south end of the beach.
Every ton removed means a cleaner, healthier beach for our community and wildlife.
