Today we mark #Ukraine’s Statehood Day with one simple truth: empires may try to redraw maps, rewrite textbooks and rename history, but they cannot erase a nation that knows exactly who it is. Ukraine was, is and always will be. Its roots run deep & its future is its own.
Second massive attack on Kyiv in just 5 days. Tonight's attack lasted into the early morning with deaths already confirmed and rising. russia is losing - this war, its sanity, and its future. Attacking civilians and hurting children is the lowest and most cowardly act imaginable.
There are natural disasters: earthquakes, storms, floods, things humanity cannot always prevent. And then there is 🇷🇺, turning nights into civilian killing sprees.
Kyiv is in smoke: at least 10 people killed, 56 injured, rescuers still searching under rubble for survivors.
While Europe heads into summer holidays, tanning & relaxing, 🇷🇺 orks keep hunting civilians. This morning in Kherson, a civilian bus was hit: at least 2 people killed, more injured. Less than a day earlier, in Kharkiv, a 23 yo medical students life ended on her way to graduation.
Today, as we mark 🇺🇦's Constitution Day, we honour the resilience & determination of the Ukrainian people. Despite Russia's brutal aggression, Ukrainians stand firm in defending their sovereignty, democracy, justice & our shared European future – enshrined in 🇺🇦's Constitution.
Today, Crimean Tatars mark Flag Day, honoring a symbol of dignity, identity, and resilience that continues to sustain hope through years of Russian aggression and occupation. The day will come when this flag flies freely over Crimea. #CrimeaIsUkraine
Russian strikes have set the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra on fire. It‘s one of Christianity's most important spiritual sites and a cornerstone of #Ukraine's cultural heritage. The deliberate cynical targeting of a protected World Heritage site is an attack on a shared part of Europe's and humanity's historical legacy. It demands a clear and strong response from #UNESCO and the international community.
These attacks once again demonstrate that Russia's war is directed not only against Ukraine's sovereignty, but also against its people, history, and identity. The response must go beyond condemnation: stronger military support for Ukraine, increased pressure on #Russia through sanctions and accountability measures, and unwavering political support for Ukraine's European Union membership.
I once stumbled upon this photo of a 🇺🇦woman hiding in a bathtub with her baby. As 🇷🇺 attacked frontline regions tonight, many mothers likely did the same. A 22 yo pregnant woman in Chuhuiv did not live to see morning or meet her child. Another future stolen before it even began.
🇱🇹🇺🇦 Important agreements reached at the 2nd joint Lithuania-Ukraine Government meeting in Vilnius: investing in mutual resilience, energy security, civil preparedness & defense innovation.
Together we are co-creating key elements of the future European security architecture.
Stronger together. Safer Europe.
Another horrific night in #Ukraine. Russia launched a massive combined attack against #Kyiv and other regions, including Zaporizhzhia, Dnipro, Poltava, and Kharkiv. Hundreds of drones and dozens of missiles were fired after a week of deliberate intimidation, forcing millions of civilians to spend night after night in shelters awaiting the next strike. As of this morning, at least 10 civilians have been killed and more than 100 injured across the country, with the numbers expected to rise.
This latest wave of terror is yet another reminder that the Kremlin continues to rely on attacks against civilians because it is losing on the battlefield. At the same time, voices are growing louder in favor of restoring ties with Russia and its puppet regime in #Belarus. Such calls ignore a simple reality: there can be no return to business as usual with states that continue to wage aggressive war and terrorize civilians. Every step towards normalization without accountability only emboldens the aggressor.
Ukraine does not need more statements of condemnation. It needs action. The necessary tools are available and must be used without delay.
– increasing military support, particularly air defense capabilities, to strengthen Ukraine's ability to protect its people and defend its sovereignty;
– maximizing pressure on #Russia and its accomplices through stronger sanctions, full political and economic isolation, the use of frozen Russian assets, and full accountability for the crime of aggression;
– advancing Ukraine's #EU accession by opening all negotiating clusters without further delay.
The #Kremlin must understand that every act of terror will result in greater costs, deeper isolation, and stronger support for Ukraine.
🇱🇹🇺🇦 Great meeting with 🇺🇦 Deputy Prime Minister for Euro-Atlantic Integration @taraskachka in Vilnius today.
Ukraine’s #EU membership is the strongest security guarantee for both #Ukraine and Europe. With the politically motivated blockade by Orbán’s government now gone, there is no justification for delay - accession talks must start immediately, with all six clusters opened.
🇺🇦 must join, bringing its full military, human, and economic strength into the Union. Procrastination only benefits our adversaries.
🇱🇹🇺🇦 At the joint meeting of the Lithuanian and Ukrainian governments, I reaffirmed Lithuania’s full spectrum support for Ukraine - from military assistance to #EU integration - until a just and lasting peace is achieved and beyond it.
#Lithuania and #Ukraine are strategic partners, united by shared history, values, and a clear view of today’s security threats. For more than a decade, Ukraine is courageously fighting for its sovereignty, territorial integrity, and freedom - and Lithuania is committed to providing everything needed for 🇺🇦 to defend itself and secure a just peace. That also includes tougher sanctions, deeper isolation of Russia and Belarus, and a firm rejection of any “business as usual” with the aggressors.
We are also grateful to Ukraine for sharing its anti-drone combat experience and technological support, which is invaluable in response to the today’s hybrid attacks and strengthening of the air defence as well as the resilience in our region.
Lithuania stands firm with Ukraine and will always stand firmly in its support.
The decision has been made.
37 states officially approved the agreement necessary to establish the Special Tribunal for the Crime of Aggression against Ukraine and move it towards operation in The Hague. This is a milestone for international justice.
The Tribunal is built on a principle established after the Second World War: those who unleash wars of aggression bear personal responsibility for that decision. Russia’s war against Ukraine did not happen by itself. It was planned, authorised and executed by specific individuals.
They must be held accountable. Because lasting peace is impossible without justice – and aggression must never remain without consequences.
Happy Republic Day, Armenia jan! 🇦🇲
May your spirit and hope remain unbreakable, your future peaceful and bright, and your beautiful people blessed with freedom, resilience, and happiness. Sending warm wishes from Lithuania to all Armenians 🇱🇹❤️🇦🇲
Lithuania congratulates all Armenians on the occasion of the Republic Day of #Armenia 🇦🇲. We wish Armenia continued peace and stability, economic prosperity and steady progress on its path toward a democratic and European future.
🇱🇹🇦🇲 Thank you, @AraratMirzoyan#Armenia’s Foreign Minister, for the warm hospitality and excellent visit. Today we focused on deepening our strategic partnership and boosting our political, economic, cultural, and people-to-people contacts.
Armenia’s #EU integration is key to a more secure and prosperous future. #Lithuania firmly supports the European choice of the Armenian people and is ready to share its expertise in implementing reforms, as well as in facilitating EU visa-free travel for 🇦🇲 citizens.
🇱🇹🇦🇲 Today, in a solemn moment of silence at the #Tsitsernakaberd Memorial, we honoured the victims of the Armenian Genocide. The memory of this tragic chapter of history lives on.
As soon as the so-called May 9–11 "ceasefire" - never meaningfully observed by #Russia in the first place, but desperately needed to stage its war-glorifying propaganda parade - ended, #Moscow immediately resumed its usual scale of indiscriminate attacks across #Ukraine.
A ceasefire cannot be a theatrical pause designed to serve Kremlin propaganda or polish the image of a state waging a war of aggression. It must deliver real and verifiable protection for civilians, be firmly rooted in Ukraine’s security needs, and serve as a genuine step toward a just and lasting peace - not a temporary cover for continued violence.
moscow keeps threatening Kyiv to do what it has already routinely done for 4+ years — commit more war crimes. But no missile alert, no intimidation campaign, and no propaganda line will push 🇺🇦’s partners out of Kyiv.
🇱🇹 and 🇪🇺 stand with 🇺🇦 — calmly, firmly, and until victory.
Thank you, dear @BudrysKestutis, for speaking the truth clearly and acting accordingly – as Lithuania always does.
Ukraine has put a concrete proposal on the table: a genuine ceasefire. The issue now is not whether Russia needs another appeal or another invitation. The issue is what price the Kremlin pays for rejecting peace.
If it chooses terror again, every following hour must make Ukraine stronger, Russia weaker, and aggression more costly.
The free world has everything it needs to end the Kremlin’s illusion that it can outwait us.
Touchdown in Yerevan 🇦🇲 where the European Political Community will gather tomorrow to address challenges of continental scale.
From security to energy and connectivity.
We will also mark a major milestone with the first ever EU-Armenia Summit.
