A recent Microsoft update is changing how accessibility support is enabled for applications that use certain Microsoft web technologies. As a result, JAWS may not receive the information it needs from these applications, causing some features to provide no speech or braille. We are working directly with Microsoft to investigate the issue and determine the appropriate fix.

This week marked a significant milestone in the digital accessibility standards world. The latest version of EN 301 549, version 4.1.1, has been officially published. When it is cited in the Official Journal of the European Union, scheduled for December, it will become a harmonized standard of the European Accessibility Act. This is a significant step forward, giving organizations a clear and recognized standard to follow on the path to EAA compliance for consumer products and service.
