We delivered 50m classic ketch Meraki. Meraki is the next step in the development of traditional yachts, setting a new standard for quality, design and sailing performance. After a successful maiden voyage, she arrived in Palma. We wish Owners, crew fair winds.

Over the years we have done extensive testing on the V-furl and V-drum. We have carefully implemented changes and improved the safety and the ease of handling sails.

Vitters introduced the first ever below deck headsail drum and furler for hands-off operation on SY Anatta (ex. Aglaia). This system increases the yachts' performance and sail changes take place quickly and easily whilst reducing energy consumption of rulers, winches and feeders.

To maximise the yacht’s performance, we have developed the Ultral concept where we add aluminium only there where it adds to strength. We make use of finite element analysis and strength calculations. We are building a 55+ metre ultralight yacht on which we implement this concept

During these uncertain times of Covid-19, our production team never stopped working on our on-hand projects. In our main construction hall, the hull of the 56 m. Frers Design slowly starts taking shape and our refit project is entering her final stages of (re)construction.

Fact of the day: This year 30 years ago, Jan Vitters started Vitters Shipyard. The eponym of the company started with the construction of Motor Yacht hulls, but eventually expanded to fully outfitted Sailing Yachts, the first being the 160 ft. Thalia. #FactFriday

Starting today, four of our yachts will participate in the 2020 Superyacht Challenge Antigua. Instead of focussing on one overall winner, the Challenge rewards class winners with barrels of rum. Definitely different than the usual. We wish all participants a lot of fun.
