Karnataka Election Commission has published (ASDDO List) Absent, Shifted, Duplicate, Dead and Others.

More than 11 Million voter records have been deleted during the SIR exercise in Karnataka.
Out of these, around 62 lakh (60% of total deleted) have been marked as 'Permanently Shifted', 'Deaths' account for about 14.4%, and 15% are marked as 'Untraceable.'

But here's the question many people are asking:

1. Did 62 lakh people really move out? Or were "Permanently Shifted" simply the easiest category to use when there wasn't enough time to verify every case?

2. The term 'Permanently Shifted' is supposed to mean that a voter has moved to a new address and has been enrolled there.
If that's the case, then a simple question follows:

3. How many of these 62 lakh voters have actually been verified as enrolled elsewhere with a valid EPIC?
If that verification wasn't done, then there is no evidence that these voters shifted. They have simply been removed from the rolls.

4. What makes this even more worrying is what many voters are reporting on the ground.
There are people who collected the Enumeration Form from their BLO, filled it correctly, submitted it in person, and even completed the online submission, yet they still found their names in the ASDDO list.
They followed every instruction they were given. Yet their names were still marked for deletion.
Across different constituencies, families are hearing a similar explanation from local officials : "There were deadlines. The work had to be completed."
When the same explanation is repeated across multiple places, it raises concerns that this may not be an isolated mistake, but a problem with the process itself.

5. Then comes the next challenge: checking whether your name has been included.
The ASDDO lists are available only as PDF files spread across numerous Google Drive links. There is no official portal where a voter can search using their EPIC number, name, or serial number.

6. For many elderly voters, people with limited digital access, or those who cannot easily read lengthy PDF files, this makes verification extremely difficult.

7. Many voters are also being told, "Wait for the draft electoral roll and then file a claim."

This means that someone who already submitted the required form now has to prove that they should remain on the electoral roll and do so within a limited time using records that are not even easy to search.
That shifts the burden from the administration to the citizen.

Questions that deserve clear answers
A) What evidence was required before a voter was marked as "Permanently Shifted"?
B) Was any cross check carried out to confirm that these voters had enrolled at a new address?
C) Were BLOs working under targets or strict timelines that affected verification?
D) Why isn't there a single searchable ASDDO database for citizens?
E) Will an independent audit be conducted on a random sample of the nearly 62 lakh 'Permanently Shifted' deletions?

Conduct an independent audit of a representative sample of the "Permanently Shifted" cases.
Restore the names of voters who had already submitted their Enumeration Forms and whose records can be verified.

Around 233 shops encroaching on the footpath between the Historic Bengaluru Fort, Victoria Hospital and KR Market were cleared today by the BLR Central Corporation.

Many of these were permanent metal-fabricated structures erected using forged documents purportedly issued by the erstwhile BBMP, completely blocking the view of the Historic Fort and leaving no space for pedestrians in one of Bengaluru’s busiest corridors.

After finding the documents to be bogus, the Hon’ble High Court directed the occupants to vacate within 15 days. Authorities waited 20 days before carrying out the clearance today, marking a major victory for the lakhs of citizens who use every day.
