To celebrate the accomplishments of my daughter and her dad we decided to make a meal together for the family. My daughter will make the appetizer, her dad will make dessert and I will make the entree. @YEPeducation#letsteachadults
This week we worked on how my daughter would “test” her dad based on what he has learnt so far, if he was ready for such an assessment and what she thought needed improvement. Based on our work, she is planning an assessment for her dad. @YEPeducation#letsteachadults
This week’s challenge for my daughter was to teach something she loves, something simple and something that isn’t time dependent. Something fun. So she decided to teach her dad how to make her favourite cookies. It was a great lesson. #letsteachadults@YEPeducation
This week I spoke about what I needed to change to help my learner. I gave some new directives that I thought would help her be more successful during her lesson time. We also discussed what her end goals were for her learner and herself. #letsteachadults@YEPeducation
Over Reading Week I received an etransfer. I was excited for the money but more excited because my learner from the fall session used her newly learnt skills on her own. So proud of my MIL. She is truly empowered. @YEPeducation#letsteachadults
In the past 2 weeks my daughter put a plan together and executed her plan. The execution needs a bit of work. That’s on me! I evaluated my mistakes in this process and will give her better directions for next time. @YEPeducation #letsteachadults
Today we talked about what went well and what could improve from her first lesson (took a few ‘tell me mores’). Then we went over a more detailed plan of action for her planning and next lesson. #letsteachadults @YEPeducation
My daughter taught her first lesson: how to make meat pie. I was there to give her moral support and a little direction. Overall she did a great job for her first time. @YEPeducation #Letsteachadults
Today my daughter and I read some tutoring tips from YEP and worked on creating her first lesson. She will be teaching her dad to cook. #LetsTeachAdults@YEPeducation
Very excited to mentor-teach my daughter this semester to be a tutor. Three generations of mentor teaching and maybe three generations of educators. We started by talking about what she wanted to teach and best practices. #letsteachadults @YEPeducation
This week we continue with online banking. How to make payments, transfer funds and e-transfer. My learner was so happy to learn these new skills. No more cheques and visits to the bank. #letsteachadults@YEPeducation
