You probably reason the way an ordinary person does: why is Germany spending billions of euros from its budget on the Ukrainian conflict? It is strange, considering Germany’s problems.

You reason like this: the voter sees this, hates Merz, so what is the point of all this? This is political suicide for Germany’s political leadership.

You look at this issue like an ordinary person, while they look at this issue like businessmen.

That is why the war in Ukraine will be eternal. This is the new Hundred Years’ War.

I’ll explain now. Imagine you are Chancellor Merz, and sitting in front of you are industrialists, those who produce drones.

And they say: let’s spend an average of 3 billion euros a month from the federal budget on drones to defend democracy and the freedom of Europe.

Let’s make Germany strong again.

Three billion a month. A ten-percent kickback right away: 300 million.

And German industry will be working.

Plus, you can take some money here and there from the Danes, Belgians, French, Dutch, Swedes, Norwegians — from the sponsors.

So it won’t be only German taxpayers paying for all of it.

And three billion - for that money, German industry could produce a thousand drones a day.

Can you imagine launching a thousand drones every day?

That would cause colossal damage to Russia.

And can production be increased threefold?

In six months, it can be tripled - to 3,000 drones a day.

Three thousand drones launched every day could cause enormous damage to the economy of the European part of Russia within a few months.

And this is important!

Ukraine, in this case, is only a launch pad.

Who gives a damn that missiles are hitting it, that buildings, bridges, and warehouses are collapsing there.

Who gives a damn how many people are killed there.

Ukraine is only a launch pad for launching drones at Russia. Nobody cares about the situation there. What they care about are the billions for drones.

The task is to get kickbacks now for two years, so that you can then win the federal elections.

And after that - revenge against Russia for the Second World War.

Then they will slap Russia with some enormous reparations: 5 trillion euros over 50 years, 100 billion a year.

That is roughly comparable to what Russia received from energy exports in certain years.

And that’s it.

You can become the next Hindenburg or Bismarck in German history.

And all this petty AfD fuss will be swept aside.

And most importantly - don’t look at war as war. It is a money-making factory.

The game is worth the candle, and any peace initiative will be brutally killed.

I translated this Soviet-era cartoon because it offers a glimpse into the history of Ukraine’s fight for independence since 1917, which has in fact always been a history of dependence on and serving the highest bidder.

The cartoon's central theme is the idea that competing political projects in Ukraine repeatedly sought support from stronger foreign patrons while claiming to represent national liberation.

What makes the film particularly interesting is that it was produced in Kiev, features Ukrainian-language dialogue, and even includes a Ukrainian band. In other words, this is not a modern Russian interpretation of Ukrainian history. It is a historical artifact showing how these debates were already being portrayed by people living much closer to the events themselves.
