(5/5) Sepsis in the ICU is often a surgical disease.

Involve your surgical colleagues early whenever appropriate for definitive source control. Antibiotics and vasopressors are a bridge to definitive management in many cases.

Septic Stone --> Stent
Necrotizing SSTI --> debridement
Empyema --> drainage
Gallbladder --> PTC or OR
Other abdominal sepsis --> OR
Endocarditis with large lesions --> ?OR
Joint --> OR for washout
