I think the entire EPFO scheme itself should be scrapped. Just give every employee a recurring deposit account in SBI, and exempt the interest income from tax if held for 5+ years. Name it PM SARAL (Simple Retirement and Long-term Savings) Yojana or something.

I wanted to travel 250 km from my place to nagpur.

It took 4 hours normally with a superfast express.

Now I had an option of Vande Bharat as well.

And guess what, it was still taking 3 hrs 45 min to reach.

It is nothing but an old Indian railway wrapped up in a new avtar.

And ticket prices?

People are paying 10% from 50L onwards since 2016 when Shri Arun Jaitly brought the limit from 50L onwards.

I see more people talk about early retirement than building.

By 45, where most IT jobs are getting blockers, a person is still to fund their school, intermediate, higher education etc.

Filed my ITR today.

Paid income tax more than my fresher year CTC.

In return, now I'll have to struggle to get my own PF money back. Can't send my future kids to government school because we all know the condition. Can't depend on a government hospital if I want good treatment. To drive on good roads, still have to pay toll. Have to buy an air purifier and water purifier because air and water around me are polluted.

Feels very unrewarding to be a taxpayer. There should be some reward for people who pay a good chunk of their income in taxes every year.
