@Primm_Slim6969@TiimoTP People are defending this change but would completely understand the gripe if Lara Croft was replaced by a male character who they introduced 2 games ago.
Then they'd say, "No one wanted this." "This is Lara's series, "Aren't there enough male protagonist"
@tobiasbonino@Primm_Slim6969@TiimoTP The problem is most of us don't give a fuck about Faye.
I'm an OG GOW fan and i like the new games, but Faye was more of a plot device than a character mfs actually care about.
Imo it's disrespectful to highlight her when they've ignored his first wife and daughter.
@CorneliusG14926 NBA 2k takes more skill than most games, and yes, I play damn near every genre, so this take isn't just talking
Ya shit on sports gamers and act like we're just mindless, but none of you can just pick up 2k and be good against HOF CPU.
@CredicoDrew@UTxJGTheDon My point in reducing Pragmata is that on the surface it reads as more of the same trope. This discussion started over variety in the medium, so this game being so familiar on the surface leads to the medium feeling less varied.
I'm not saying it's right, but it's how things go.
@CredicoDrew@UTxJGTheDon I Agree with you. I don't pay for Twitter so I'll respond in parts.
I'm actually an artist, so i fully understand nothing is original, but timing and execution matter in terms of audience perception.
@CredicoDrew@UTxJGTheDon For example Saints Row was labeled a clone because of the time it was executed. If it had came out in 2017, when the gangster sandbox genre was bone dry, it would've been accepted for what it was.
@UTxJGTheDon Did you forget how this all started. I'm speaking on these specific games because you brought them up to me.
Also I have nothing against any of them. I'm glad 007 has a new game as a Golden Eye player. I'm glad LEGO is still killing it, those games are integral to my childhood.
@CredicoDrew@UTxJGTheDon I was dismissive unintentionally but my main point is that the games are interesting and unique, but also feel somewhat redundant because the trope has become common recently
I love Saints Row, which was labeled a clone. It was more than that, but it was redundant at the time
@UTxJGTheDon@Davoncampbell52 Now you're projecting. I'm not grumpy at all, I just countered your opinion with my own and you started acting like a bitch about it.
You're acting like I hurt your feelings because I see flaws in games.
I never said these games are bad, just flawed or uninteresting to me. π€¦πΏββοΈ
@UTxJGTheDon Pragmata looks good but it's also not a stretch to say it's just continuing the trend of "man escorts child through dangerous land"
I'm gonna buy it and play it, and I'm expecting to have a good time, I'm just stating that it's not a example of gaming variety.
@UTxJGTheDon 007's gameplay looks stiff and highlighting celeb cameos soured me because it shows poor prioritization.
Alot of Lego game fans agree with me that the games were better before they became open world. The maps felt like puzzles themselves.
@soulTGS@UTxJGTheDon Saints Row 1 & 2, Manhunt, Infamous 1, Dragons Age, Deus Ex, Far Cry 2,3, and 5, GTA VC, SA, & IV, Smackdown Vs RAW, Lego Star Wars Saga, The Force Unleashed, Uncharted, Legacy of Kain, Jak & Daxter, Ratchet & Clank, Sly Cooper, Hyfy Rush, Silent Hill, RE 1-4
Just to name a few.
@UTxJGTheDon 007 simply doesn't look good
Lego games were amazing but the open world ruined them in a way.
Pragmata looks somewhat interesting in the story, but it's just another "guy and kid traversing a dangerous world" game, like GOW 2018, TLOU, Death Stranding, etc.
@fullmetalhkm Bro SGA is great, but we're not gonna act like the hate isn't earned.
The Thunder get an unfair whistle. They foul all game, only to get called for like 25% of them. Then they can fall and flop without any illegal contact, and get rewarded with free throws.
@UTxJGTheDon For example, I hate Souls games, but I love Star Wars. I bought Jedi Fallen Order and hated it because it's more of a Souls game than a Star Wars game.
Damn near every action game is some flip on the Souls design philosophy, so now I can't enjoy most new action games.
@UTxJGTheDon People keep confusing quantity with variety.
If thousands of games release every year, but most follow the same design trends, people are still gonna feel like thereβs nothing to play if they don't like those design trends.
@haine4l@safuxbt@j_burburry25@Ben10Bandz@Son_ImSleep I disagree with bro overall, but I will say as the dude who was in relationships and won't cheat, it "scares the hoes" because women don't like rejection and roll as a group.
Turning down one of them might fuck up the night for everyone.
