When someone is forcibly disappeared, it constitutes a violation of the law, but protesting against such unjust actions is the right of every citizen. However, it's been observed for years that state institutions first forcibly disappear individuals and then attempt to suppress the right to protest, sometimes by directly threatening families. When families do protest, they often face harassment, violence, and arrests.

Today, another such event unfolded as Lala Rafeeq Dashti, who was forcibly disappeared on December 22, 2023, by state authorities, had his family protesting for him along the Gwadar Coastal Highway, Shankani Dar. They were met with brutal violence by the police, with a large number of male and female officers attempting to sabotage the protest and harass women. Furthermore, three male protestors were arrested.

The Baloch Yakjehti Committee strongly condemns such unlawful acts and demands the safe release of Lala Rafeeq and the three protestors who were arrested during the demonstration.
