He now faces charges including “inciting and encouraging violent acts” and “propaganda against the state structure,” with authorities reportedly citing his social media posts and intelligence reports as evidence.

⚡️#SouthAzerbaijan’i activist Araz Amani Nadarli has been transferred to #Tabriz Central Prison to begin serving his sentence after reporting to authorities following the finalization of his case.
⚡️#Iran’s Supreme Court has approved a retrial for #SouthAzerbaijan’i lawyer Mohammadreza Faqihi, ruling that the act attributed to him does not constitute a crime under the law.
Faqihi, a lawyer and member of the Central Bar Association, was previously sentenced to 5 years in prison and additional restrictions on charges of “colluding and conspiring against national security” following his participation in a peaceful gathering of lawyers in 2022.
⚡️Former student activist Amirhusein Saadat was reportedly detained by Iranian intelligence officers in #Tabriz on June 1 and taken to an undisclosed location.
According to reports, he was arrested at his workplace without a court order, while his home was searched and personal items, including his phone, laptop, and passport, were confiscated. Sources also allege that physical force was used during the arrest.

Several days after his arrest, authorities have not disclosed his whereabouts, health condition, or any charges against him, raising concerns among supporters and rights advocates.
The three were arrested in #Tabriz in January 2025 and later released on bail pending legal proceedings. Their combined prison sentences total 12 years and 9 months.
Each activist was sentenced to 4 years and 3 months in prison: 3 years and 7 months for allegedly “colluding and conspiring against national security” and 8 months for “propaganda against the system.”
