@Oct23Mike Nothing wrong with wanting more, but yeah, focusing on your passion for the craft itself is by far a better and more reliable source of motivation then relying on factors outside of your control.
Unfortunately, that's the kind of cycle these platforms are designed to create. They condition us into thinking we need x numbers to feel validated especially when those numbers get normalized by the ones we may look up to. Even though they're not actually normal at all.
Imagine if 10 people complimented your work irl, it'd probably make your day. (It'd certainly make mine) but online we see 10 as a very low number. That's the kind of skewed perspective social media has given us. And I'm by no means immune. I have to keep myself in check all the time or else I'll get discouraged too.
@PlutieWifey Don't feel bad, I think we've all had an unhealthy relationship with social media at one point or another. The fact you see a problem puts you in a better position than most others I've seen.
@DenKrinzhevsky I've never used Krita, but with a quick search, it looks like there is. If its anything like Clip Studio Paint, it'll soften anything you edit with it, so its best used on the sketch and not final lineart.
@NeptuniaV2 I don't have the actual pillow part because I sleep with my dogs and I don't want them to ruin em, but I have 4 covers. My favorite one is Ruri from Oreimo 🖤 I also have Nana from To Love Ru and Purple Heart and Kurumi which I got from game LE's
Forgotten Dimension Neptunia Mk0 has now been downloaded by over 100 people. Thank you to everyone who's given it a try (even if you hated it xD)

@_Gamester_ I've always found it ironic that Twitter, a text focused platform, has some of the smallest character limits of any platform. I can write fricken novels in Instagram captions despite text not even being a focus on there.
Completely agree. Unfortunately people can't see past their own emotional brain washing. "It's disgusting, it shouldn't be allowed to exist, it promotes bad behavior" that line of thinking can be applied to a lot of things. It doesn't just stop at loli content. Both Conservatives and Liberals would support banning things they don't like if it goes against their world views. Nobody should be given too much power because they'd all fuck it up.
It comes down to a very simple calculus for me.
Do you want the government to have the power to put people in a steel cage over a drawing when no harm has been dealt to another party. The obvious answer is no.
The best way to prevent that is to NEVER give them even an inch of that kind of power regardless of how much you despise the content. Centralized power structures only seek to expand authority. They will always try for more than they are initially given.
This is not a moral argument its a practical political one.
Sometimes when I'm feeling inadequate as an artist, it helps to look back at my past work and see how far I've come. This is where I was back in 2022. I still have a long way to go but I've gone from making trash like this to what I've done recently which is a huge improvement.
Some of the purest fans are the ones who enjoy things in silence and don't need constant validation from online fandoms.
While others bitch each other to death, I prefer to just do my own thing in my own little void.
